"It took ages to check despite the bar being open. My nice but quite small but the general housekeeping could be improved. The basin in the tiny bathroom offered little or no hot water and the shower head was only adequate. The menu choice was disappointing but the food was nice. The Breakfast basket was poor. My overall opinion of the Crown was that it was expensive for what you got. It's not a place that I would return to. "

"This is our third stay at this lovely Victorian hotel. It is ideal for us when visiting our daughter who lives close by. The hotel staff are very polite and friendly and the restaurant and bar serves top notch food and drinks. I am knocking off one star as our room was very cold on this particular stay. On the minus side , no available water bottles from hotel and weren’t aware there was a music bar just below so a bit noisy.
