"I will get negatives out of the way first, the listing says this is a working dairy farm however there is just a few cows and one pig. The grandchildren were looking forward to learning and watching milking etc but there was no opportunity to do this. "This is a lovely house and large enough for extended family. great walled garden for kids and dogs. Nice peaceful area and lots of space inside. Great conservator with table. Possibly some areas need a little updating (electrics and some furniture). Also somewhere to keep clothes needed in downstairs bedroom. Info on site mostly okay but phone number for host is missing a number and she doesn't seem to get messages through VRBO but will reply to texts. Very helpful once she knows you are asking"

"The house is a large, beautiful gite with everything we required for our stay; good facilities, clean and a well maintained pool on a daily basis. The property is situated on a hill side allowing for unspoilt scenery in the sunshine. The owners were incredibly helpful, had very speedy responses and allowed us to book on the day! "We had a very pleasant stay at this quirky octagonal cottage. It is in a little hamlet up a long lane so was very quiet. The owners house was closer than it seems in the photos but she left us to ourselves unless we needed something. The lane to the Le Gibet is narrow but is one way so you don't have to worry about meeting another car going up. Entering the lane going up the hill is fine as its on the right. "A lovely place with a welcoming and helpful host who lives on site. Rouen is easily accessed with frequent buses. The place is secure and quiet (The church next door only rang its bells on Sunday) with a very pretty garden. The garden can only be accessed up a flight of steps outside so not accessible for all. Everything was as described, although the Internet is not fast. We had a great stay at Janine’s place exploring Rouen and the surrounding area."
