"Lovely little property located in a quaint village:) Staff members were super friendly on arrival and the whole check in/out process was smooth. The property has a lot of charm but needs a little tlc. The bathroom is basic and shower not great but the rest of the facilities in the room were good. The bed was a little on the hard side and very squeaky. Overall a good stay and for what we paid we were happy :) thank you x"

"The location of the Cottage is 5* easy walking distance to the Jorvik, York museum, Shambles, river cruise and lots of restaurants and pubs. York Minster is also nearby. The photo of the Cottage at the back of the building is accurate and can be accessed through the main building (it has steps down) or side entrance (all flat) Previous reviews have said the cottage floors slope, and yes they do, we got used to this quite quickly and it added to the quirkiness of the Cottage. "Clean, comfortable, convenient, safe. Beautiful and relaxed setting just minutes from remote parking for the bus into York if you're interested. an easy drive to Haxby - which had everything we needed as far a shopping and restaurants. Eggs, milk, bread, butter, juice - all made for a perfect light supper when we arrived after a long day on the road. We were able to do some laundry. Enjoyed bird watching. Just a lovely stay overall and would definitely stay again "
