Well appointed--comfortable mattress, beautiful bedding, great bathroom--comfortable couch and small table for eating. Excellent value. More than 1 venue for food--different styles. We only sampled breakfast--the granola parfait was perfect. "

"Weather was bad for the first few days, but the cottage was lovely and cosy. We stovked up on food and enjoyed some family time. When weather improved we were able to enjoy several locations. It was a lovely qiuet lication perfect for de-sttessing, helped by the ducks."

"Was left over chinese takeaway in fridge. Bed sheets were disgusting, lots of hairs and stains. Cups were unwashed. Decking was so slippy, green molud, nearly had a bad fall. Fold away chairs in main bedroom which seems to be from outside had spider nets. We came home after being there few hours and was meant to stay 4 nights. We were so disappointed, angry, deflated as saved up our hard earned cash for our 4 nights away and ended us coming home before we should have. "

"Didn't actually manage to stay here and had to book alternative accommodation at short notice. Despite checking in online earlier that morning and advising of expected arrival time, I didn't receive the code for the lock box and all attempts at contacting the host failed, no response to phone calls or text messages, in fact the host declined my calls on numerous occasions. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED that this host left a solo female traveler stood outside in the rain and in the dark for over an hour...

"We had a good week at the property, it is a bit remote and shopping for food best done before you arrive at property or in larger village shops! Lovely gardens and beach for the kids, a bit rocky but kids loved looking in rock pools. The accommodation itself was spotless, very well stocked with kitchen equipment and appliances, we had the two cottages which made up the stables, so 2 kitchen and lounge areas, we tended to use the larger kitchen for eating and the smaller cottage lounge as it was...

"Lovely location and awesome views. Property was very comfortable and cosy. We're allergic to feathers so Sue made sure there were no issues. She took great care to think of our wellbeing. "This is a really, really lovely hotel. It is a little bit of a step back in time, but in a lovely way. A really grand building that has been well kept whilst it is still possible to imagine how grand it would have appeared to people when first built. It made me smile whenever I was walking around it. I was there on business, but Carlisle seems like a very interesting place ... I will be back to both Carlisle and the Crown and Mitre!"
