Very central to all attractions and amenities, liked the themed room aspect. Bit noisy at the front later on with folk queuing for the night club but that didn’t prevent a good nights comfortable sleep. Would definitely stay here again.

Took a while for us to be checked in as there was no staff at reception. We got the room we requested (Tokyo) which was great. It was very large and we especially loved the TV from the ceiling and bathroom.

Due to severe weather almost everything in Edinburgh was closed for the day and I had to spend the whole day and an extra night in the hotel. Even though there were very few staff due to the storm those who in made sure we had food and went out of their way to be accomodating and make residents feel secure.

Great lively place lots of xmas parties going on, booked a table for drinks superb attentive friendly staff great time shall come again ps try the hot chocolate lush best ive tried must find out the name .

The hotel room was lovely. I stayed on a Saturday night but due to the bar downstairs and the noise on the street continuing past 1am, as well as lots of noise from works early the following morning, it was very difficult to get any sleep. I did report this to reception but they said the noise transfers because the buildings were old.

A great central location, but try to avoid the room we started in (201)! The hotel cannot do anything about the rooms now of course, but had we not moved rooms, I would have had to give this review 2 stars out of 5. That's because the main purpose of a hotel is to provide a good night's sleep, and staying in 201 does not give that. Firstly, it's right by the road, so you will hear traffic and people - OK, not too bad, and ear plugs can solve that, but it's also above the nightclub, so you will hear the music and then at 03:00 on Friday night/Saturday night at least, you will hear all the revellers leaving, shouting, laughing and you might just smell the cigarette smoke too. We had that from 03:00 until 04:45 early Saturday morning. Nobody seemed to be interested in moving the people on, away from the hotel. We found the bed small for 2, although that's probably just us, it was as advertised, a standard double bed. The window mechanism was broken too so the windows wouldn't open, hence the 4/5 for 'property condition'. I tried 3 times to move rooms throughout the week and luckily on the 3rd attempt, Drew (great) managed to move us to a quieter room which made all the difference in the world. The bar was excellent, we didn't eat in the restaurant so can't comment but it looked cool. So overall, room 201 would have given the review 2/5 but as Drew managed to move us, that has to be a 5/5.

The hotel's location and value for price was fine, however, there is a pub in the building and the night we were staying there was extremely loud until at least 2AM due to a "party" that evening. Our advice would be to determine if there are any late night "events" at the pub for the evenings you're planning on staying there.

Room was lovely and clean & in a very convenient part of Edinburgh- close to the station, restaurants and shopping as well as bus stops. We stayed in a very comfortable junior suite. My only complaint is that the room was a bit hot at night and we couldn’t open the window. Staff was very friendly. I would recommend the hotel and would stay there again.

Beautiful Hotel in Prime Location
Beautiful themed rooms, friendly hotel staff, comfortable accommodations with robes. Excellent location- highly walkable. My only complaint is the proximity of a very popular nightclub- the noise was unbearable until 4 am.
