"The hotel had just been open a few days after being closed for 8 months. The building is shabby & our room was worse. There were stains on the carpet & upholstery. The bathroom was nice as it looked as if it had been upgraded recently. There was no ac & we could only open the window a few inches. We had a very small fan, inadequate. The sun shone on our window most of the day. It was hot!"

"Over all the stay was good and the Bristol House is in a fantastic location within Paignton with everything in walking distance. I have no real bad feed back about the stay, however maybe the house could do with a bit of a lick of paint in the room and freshen it up, I think it would have such a greater impact on customers staying there if it was spruced up a little bit. Overall the room was clean which is always good. Breakfast was fantastic and very tasty. "

"We had a lovely, well stocked room in a quirky, characterful property. The house is very clean and well decorated with an abundance of interesting artwork and curiosities. Our room was excellent as were the hosts and they certainly go the extra mile to make the stay an enjoyable one. Breakfast is amazing and left me completely satisfied. This is now our go to option for staying in this area and we'll definitely be back. We're so happy that we discovered this little gem."

"Ignore the bad reviews. This is the second year running I’ve came here with my children. The hotel is clean and the staff are really polite and helpful it’s cheaper than the other hotels in the area as it’s being refurbished the rooms are decent and lovely views if you get a sea room. "
