Tucked in the woods! Auroras seen here. Private.

Close to Chena Hotsprings!

Your private Alaskan dream vacation brought directly to you; 5 Private acres - Aurora viewing - Alaskan woods - right at your doorstep. As you are nestled in this cozy cabin with all the creature comforts for a relaxing vacation, you will be completely surrounded by the Alaskan woods and the wilds you came here for. Entirely private 5 acres, no other houses in sight from cabin windows. Auroras dance above this cabin with beautiful clarity without the light pollution of town. (when weather permits) Well maintained roads to this cabin will keep you stress free as you decide between an evening soak at Chena Hot Springs Resort or a fun dinner in town.

LOCATION
This cabin is perfectly sandwiched between downtown Fairbanks and the Chena Hot Springs Resort, cozily tucked in genuine Alaskan woods. Far enough removed from Fairbanks light pollution for perfect Aurora viewing but still a comfortable (and gorgeous) drive in for groceries or dinner in town. As gorgeous as the drive in to town is, its even better out to Chena hot springs resort. This location cuts the drive in half from town to the Hot Springs to allow for an easy evening of fun at the resort. You don't need a room there to enjoy their phenomenal restaurant and bar or to buy a day pass for a soak in the springs!
Come experience this cabin for yourself as the perfect romantic Arctic getaway.

**** This cabin is an Alaskan escape. A place to be away, to enjoy the outdoors and to immerse yourself in a world revolved around the true peace of wild spruce trees and quiet life. There is NO PROVIDED Wi-Fi (cell data works great for most providers and I use my hotspot for my laptop). Verizon and AT&T work wonderfully.
***Please note *** Well water has been tested and is safe for consumption. The hot water has a slight sulphur odor (shower). If this would be a problem for you we recommend considering another rental.
***The third bedroom with the twin bed is accessed THROUGH the master loft. AKA you will be walking past the king bed to get to this room. Once you are in the 3rd bedroom, the door shuts completely and is entirely private.
- Heating oil is used to heat the cabin. There is no wood stove.

THE CABIN
A gorgeous combination of the heavy wood cabin in your Alaskan dream vacation with a modern flare. One of the best features? The spaciously luxurious loft. Fitted with a king size bed, canopy curtains and a view of the 5 acres of Alaskan woods this property sits on. Walk down the stairs each morning to the sunrise glow streaming in through the large windows that adorn the entire cabin. This stay is brimming with natural light and a feel of the outdoors. Even once the sun is down, dimmable up lighting allows for the feel of daylight no matter the time of day. Faux furs and blankets adorning the entire place keeps the cabin soft, warm and a cozy environment you wont want to leave. The living space is outfitted with expertly picked out, upscale wicker furnishings that are pet friendly, allowing for FULL washable coverings and a complete clean wipe down for no lingering smells or dandruff. Pristine, for each new guest to make the cabin their own vacation. A full kitchen with an open floor plan to the living areas will be the sweetest place for a dinner in or a hearty breakfast before your days adventure. One of the most exciting aspects? Staying out in the woods WITHOUT an outhouse! A beautiful full bathroom with a large tub, shower and décor to suit a relaxing getaway.

The perfect place in a perfect place!
We had an amazing time at this wonderful property. The cabin fit two adult couples very well and we had everything we needed. The hosts were very responsive throughout. Then beyond the beautiful space, we had the BEST time meeting the sled dogs and learning all about life in the area. We would absolutely stay again!

A perfect escape to a cabin in the woods!
Thank you to Elke, Matt, and Lisa or a wonderful stay at this beautiful cabin in the woods. They were very responsive hosts, answering all of our questions and providing lots of great local recommendations and instructions on how to operate all of the amenities in the cabin. We stayed for 3 nights in September and enjoyed the peace and quiet of this welcoming, exceptionally clean and cozy cabin. It was a perfect place to unplug and relax, while still being close to town and offering the comforts of home. We were lucky to see the Auroras on our final night at the cabin, with dark skies right outside our front door. The dog sledding experience was unforgettable. It was such a treat to meet Elke's wonder dogs and learn about mushing in Alaska. Thank you for this experience - we will never forget it, and will follow the team in the upcoming Iditarod. We fell head over heels for the pups, and we'll be cheering for you in March!

Great place to stay
The cabin is super cozy, a real labor of love. We were lucky to have multiple nights of seeing the aurora during our visit, but enjoyed watching it most right outside the cabin. We also enjoyed the private dog mushing and our dog team made it a very enjoyable experience. Overall we had a great time, and hope to be back again someday. Highly recommend!

Perfect cabin, Great location & Sled dog demo on site!
The cabin was perfect for our group of 4 adults. We enjoyed having a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. It was an easy distance to drive to the hot springs and we enjoyed seeing moose on the drive. We added the dog sled demonstration on to our stay and enjoyed the experience. As a tourist, you don't often get the opportunity to interact with your host. Meeting Elke and her dogs was a highlight of our trip to Alaska. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin and your mushing stories with us.

The true Alaskan Experience
The location and layout of the property gave us the feeling that we were truly in the wilderness. We fully expected to look out and see a moose wandering through the fire pit area. While we were only 45 minutes from most of the activities we had planned, we felt the experience of being in the real Alaska. Thank you for being a part of a great start to our Alaska adventure.

Cozy winter getaway at rustic cabin in the woods
Stayed 6 nights in late March. Lots of snow around cabin which was quite pretty and made for a quiet retreat, except for when a few tons of snow slid off the roof one afternoon and we thought it was an earthquake!! That was crazy. Cabin is situated off the beaten path in densely treed area. Dark at night, though we weren't able to see Northern Lights :( Limited dining options in Pleasant Valley (5 min drive). Plan accordingly! Wagners food truck was great, the pizza especially. Also had a great dinner at Chena (45 min drive) in the lodge which a was pretty cool hangout! Got to see a moose on drive back to cabin which was awesome! Cabin has fully functional but small kitchen allowed for making breakfast at home and some lunches. Nice coffee maker, so bring your grounds! Fridge is in an add-on room off kitchen, along with washer/dryer which was nice to have. Would've appreciated more plates, coffee mugs, forks/spoons so we didn't have to do dishes so frequently on vaca, but we made do. Cabin shows its age in some areas, but was clean and cutely furnished. Could use some updating (kitchen/bathroom floors) and definitely could some window coverings in upstairs sleeping loft to help block out the sun. We improvised and stacked pillows in the sills adjacent the bed. Loved the canopy around the bed upstairs! Beds were on the firmer side, we slept great. Living room furniture could be updated for price point of cabin (summer outdoor furniture), though living room was cozy otherwise. Some board games would be a nice addition! Overall, for our family, we found 1-2 less days would have been ideal, with a few nights in Fairbanks to experience Fairbanks' attractions (museum, cultural center, ice museum/sculpture competition, breweries, shopping, Pump House restaurant and the Crepery!) We got a little restless after day 4 at the cabin after having made a day trip out to Chena Hotsprings, partaking in some dog sledding, ice fishing (Rod's was great!) and snowmachining. We have a hard time relaxing because we're active people, but for others who can relax more easily, the cabin is a perfect place to be if your looking for a relaxing getaway!

Elke's Cabin
There are no words to describe just how wonderful Elke and her cabin are. Really! The cabin itself was beautifully decorated, the beds extremely comfortable, and the kitchen well stocked with everything needed to make breakfast and dinner. The morning light coming in through the windows, and seeing the Northern Lights right outside at night made the cabin feel magical. The washer/dryer were appreciated after spending time at Chena Hot Springs. The wood burning stove was mesmerizing, as we looked forward to ending the day sipping tea/coffee by the fire. We did have one movie night in the TV room/bedroom upstairs, next to the bedroom loft. Location was perfect, as we were centrally located to town, and the hot springs, both 30-45 min away. North Pole, reindeer walk, hikes were easily accessible. There is a feel of seclusion, without being isolated. Elke herself was a joy to meet, such a bubbly and energetic personality! Her love of her dogs, and passion for dog sledding was evident, and infectious! We thoroughly enjoyed the included mushing experience and hot cider in a tent! Communication with Elke was a breeze, she was prompt with updates and responses, including letting me know when the auroras were out! Her honesty, and moral character was demonstrated when she called me after checking out to alert me that my jewelry was found. We'd definitely return to this cabin in the future, and encourage anyone considering a visit to Fairbanks to book this amazing place!!

Perfect Winter Getaway!
Elke has done a fantastic job creating a cozy environment that is warm and inviting. The cabin location was ideal for us being outside of the city in the snowy woods yet still having the convenience of modern amenities! We saw several moose along the main road and thoroughly enjoyed seeing the amazing Aurora Borealis right from the property multiple nights during our stay. A highlight of our trip was the dog mushing adventure with Elke. Her dedication and love for her dogs is truly inspirational. She spent extra time with us answering all of our questions and had great conversation ~ we feel like we've known her for years! We highly recommend staying here. Simply amazing!
Staying at the Silver Songs was an absolute pleasure. I cannot imagine having a better experience anywhere else. The cabin, location, and surrounding nature make for an amazing getaway. Hats off to our wonderful host too. She was easy to contact and quick to respond when there was a need. We stayed a week for our honeymoon, and I would strongly recommend this property and host for any occasion. We could travel to a close café, and we were halfway between Chena Springs and Fairbanks. Don't miss out on the dog sled rides either. Perfect for feeling adventurous while going through groomed trails. It is a magical feeling and unforgettable experience moving through the trails. Simply remarkable doing all of this without any mushing experience. There is no better option than to get picked up at the cabin, relaxing in the hot tent, and getting to see the northern lights. We could not have planned a better opportunity to share this with each other. Again, hats off to our wonderful host! She made sure we were taken care of in the Alaskan wilderness. This is the type of stay you always remember. The cabin is perfect, the fire pit is excellent, the sled ride was a dream, and the northern lights added the final touches to a stay we could not have found anywhere else.

Truly a wilderness vacation.
The property was just as I expected. Comforts of home but the feeling of remote living. Comfortable furnishings and nicely decorated. Within driving distance to many things on a bucket list. Chena Hot Springs for a nighttime soak and a great restaurant, walking with reindeer in Two Rivers. The best part of the stay was the Silver Songs Sled Dogs excursions. Peaceful sledding in a Winter wonderland. The owner is very experienced and knowledgeable about sledding and loves her dogs. She and her dogs are amazing to watch as a team. I would highly recommend a stay at the cabin and hope to make it back there some day.

The ideal Alaskan experience!
From the minute we pulled into the property we were thrilled. This quaint cabin was PERFECT for me, my Mom, and my sister. It really puts you into the heart of interior Alaska. The cabin itself is so beautiful, clean, and perfectly designed with everything you need. The property is peaceful and private with outdoor space to catch a viewing of the Northern Lights! We got to experience the city of Fairbanks, which was only a 30 minute drive, as well as the local life of Two Rivers. Right down the road from the Cabin is a local cafe that was delicious. There was beautiful scenery all around, amazing hikes, and the Chena hot springs just a couple miles away. We got the pleasure of meeting the Silver Songs Sled Dogs - which was dog heaven! These dogs truly LOVE what they do, and I am so inspired by the way Elke loves and cares for these dogs and the sport of dog sledding. You can tell they mean the world to her. She is an amazing property manager who gave us an experience we will never forget, and we are so grateful for her heartwarming hospitality.
