The location is an excellent base from which to explore the area, and the peaceful and sought after village of Sculthorpe lies just 9 miles from the popular seaside resort of Wells-next-the-Sea with its pretty quay, mix of artisan and traditional seaside shops and narrow gauge railway to carry you to the beach. For thrills and spills, head to the traditional seaside town of Hunstanton, with its wide sandy beach, fun fair, amusements and Sea Life Centre. Also close by is Blakeney Quay, with its trips to see the seals, Holkham beach with the famous Holkham Hall and beautiful beach, Brancaster beach and the bustling market town Burnham Market, with its mix of eateries and boutique shops. The town of Fakenham offers good shops, restaurants, cafés, golf, a racecourse, a cinema and a bowling alley.
A little further afield are the seaside towns of Sheringham and Cromer, the market town of Holt and the city of Norwich, with its famous Norman castle, numerous museums and all the facilities that you would expect from a fine city. Also worth exploring are the Norfolk Broads where you can enjoy boat trips.
