Shopping trips to the city of Hull and the historic city of York, with its world famous minster, museums, art galleries, curio shops, inns and tea rooms is just over an hour’s drive. Coastal and countryside walks abound, with everything from energetic distance walks to leisurely trail and cycle ways through quiet villages and bustling towns. The Cleveland Way and the Wolds Way offer unrivalled long distance walks. Steeped in history, there are many homes, halls and castles, with Burton Agnes Hall and Castle Howard easily reached. The coastal towns of Bridlington, Scarborough and the ancient sea port of Whitby, smugglers coves such as Robin Hoods Bay, Runswick Bay and Staithes are all within easy reach.
