"We had a love stay on the outskirts of Oughterard! The property was quiet and remote and very enjoyable! Only thing I would say is we were a little confused on how to access the property at first because the address given stops at the cottages. I would also have liked the property manager to be more responsive, but the local contact was very helpful! Over all, this stay was great and will be incredibly memorable for a long time!"

"My siblings and I, along with our spouses, just returned from our stay at this property. It is a beautiful house and the location can't be beat! The host is responsive and helpful, telling us all about the property and area. Beds were comfy, and the kitchen is stocked with everything you would need. I/We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again next time we're in Ireland! If you're considering a stay here....book it.....you won't be disappointed!"

Mary the house keeper/property manager does a great job of keeping it clean and tidy but there are serious things that need addressing in order to maintain the house: the house has damp - stained peeling wallpaper shows this, as do the mushrooms growing out the beam by the front door. "My friend and I stayed here two nights and it was such a great stay, the apartment was super nice, the hosts were extremely welcoming and accommodating, and the area was really gorgeous. It’s a great place to stay if you plan on going in to Galway during the day, but having a car is pretty essential. We stayed at four other places during our trip to Ireland but this was the best place we stayed at by far."

"First of all, the lodge is exactly as portrayed in the pictures. We absolutely loved our 8 day stay in in this remote and quiet countryside. Lough Carra was beautiful, and we had sheep out front and dairy cows in the back. Beautifully landscaped as well. The caretakers, Jim and Mary were exceptional. We chose this place because we waned private and and countryside. We got it. It was the perfect base for our wanderings in Co. Mayo, Co. Galway and Connemara. My only sugesstion is for clearer...

"The house is nice with an amazing view. Had all we needed for a great stay. Waking up to the beautiful lake and mountain views was great. My kids also loved the place, there are sheep right next to the property and all the way up the mountain, the loved calling to the sheep. The owner is really nice and also close by if there are any problems (we had no problems). I’d definitely recommend this place."

"What a great stay! My daughters said it was the best place we stayed on our whole trip, and wish we stayed longer. We loved the remote location and beautiful setting. It is just a short walk past fields of grazing sheep and cows to Carrowinsky Strand, which is a stunning beach. The owner provided a packet with helpful information in nearby Louisburgh. "We stayed here two nights while driving the Wild Atlantic Way. We were very pleased with our stay. The room was very clean and comfortable. They are in a great location right in the middle of town, you can walk to all the restaurants. They have a couple parking lots, but they do seem to fill up each night. They were very friendly.
