"Had a lovely say this week at Chez Mathilde. It was chosen for the peace and quiet and because of the lovely cosy feel of the property. It was just the right distance for us to explore the forts and bunkers around Verdun. The gite itself, had everything we needed including a wood burning fire. Annie was lovely and made us a quiche, which was the best I have eaten. If we go back to this region again, we will defiantly be booking Chez Mathilde again."

"We really enjoyed our stay here! The house has a great ground level, with a warm fireplace and space to spread out. The kitchen has everything you need. "It's a nicely laid out, very clean place. Easy to get in and very central. Instructions for getting in and where to park were great. The odd thing is that, effectively, it's a sort of bunker. It's ground floor, but it has no windows to the outside; only light wells at both ends. It's not a problem if you're there in winter or are out most of the time, but not good for the claustrophobic! "A great pit stop for us to visit the WW1 sights on our way South. Easy parking, great location walkable to Verdun centre. Friendly staff, big clean family room, warm shower and generous all you can eat breakfast. Only thing that could have been better would be kettle and tea/coffee in room "

A Stay in France’s Countryside.

"The building of course is someone’s home as are many B&Bs. It can improve its initial impression which is the entrance and tidy up the place in the lobby and dining area. No complaints on the room other than a bit too many chairs. Less is sometime better allowing more room to move around. The bathroom was above standard. Overall, it is definitely worth the price. Just know it is in a small village several miles from Verdun where you can find more place to eat. It is definitely out in the country. In addition , the hosts were very friendly and tried hard to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. "
