"Hotel was just outside Westport but walkable.. reception staff were not as friendly as we found the rest of Ireland and gave no information at checkin about the hotel.. The rooms were huge and bathrooms enormous and were cleaned and re stocked everyday. Breakfast was ok.. little on buffet to choose.Menu for Cooked food was good but arrived so promt it was impossible to have any first eg fruit yogurt porridge.. having said all that views at breakfast were just amazing it was a good hotel....

"We stayed in the Lodge, where we had comfortable beds, ample room, and lovely natural light. The hotel is on the Great Western Greenway, which we didn't realize or we would have arranged a longer stay to do some more hiking. Everything was more than satisfactory - the owner even went out of his way to make up for a quite minor inconvenience during check-in. We likely won't go back to Ireland for a while - there's a lot of world to see! - but when we do, Nevin's will definitely be on our...

"Enjoyed the location very much, easy 15 minute walk into Westport. Our room was clean and stocked with coffee and tea. Patrice provided us some excellent dining suggestions. Our only issue is the plumbing in the bathroom. The toilet was tricky, the hot and cold taps on the sink were reversed and the shower was slow draining. Having said that we would stay again with the understanding that we did not book a 4 star B&B, nor did we pay the price for one. Overall good value for the money."

"We ended up staying in Hotel Newport at very short notice. Staff were lovely and although rooms were dated, they were clean. Did not spot the kettle the first night so was disappointed by that as I thought there was none. However, the cupboard that contained the tea/coffee etc was pointed out to me the next day - would have preferred it's location to be more obvious. Cooked breakfast choice was excellent and the food served was good quality. Unexpectedly got to join the town's Nephin Beggers...

"Our stay was excellent. Beautiful cottage in an excellent location, close to Castlebar with good road connections for touring the beautiful county of Mayo. The hosts Declan and Laura are very welcoming and very accommodating. Absolutely lovely people. A real genuine "Cead Mile Failte" is felt here. "We spent two lovely weeks at the Brownstown Lodge. The house is spacious and comfortable. It was a good base for our exploration of western Ireland. Thomas responded immediately to our texts. Jim and Mary were wonderful hosts. There was cake and a lovely bouquet of fresh flowers waiting for us upon arrival. Midway through our stay, Mary brought us a delicious homemade rhubarb crisp! We loved the peaceful country setting. We are in a hotel now in Dublin. . .missing the comforts of the Brownstown...
