Cute and Cozy Spot, but Some Areas Need Attention
We had a nice stay overall. Check-in was very smooth—we picked up the keys easily from the management office. The house itself was exactly as pictured: quaint and quiet in a great location. The back patio was a lovely secluded spot with a fantastic hot tub, but unfortunately, it was covered in leaves, and we had to sweep it ourselves to use it. However, there were a few issues worth noting. The bathtub/shower area needs attention; the nonslip mat had mold, the faucet dripped, and the shower head is very low, so it’s challenging for anyone taller than 5’9” to use comfortably. Additionally, the front door safety latch doesn’t fully engage, which may be a concern for families with young children as it wouldn’t prevent them from opening the door. With a few updates, this property could be even better, but we still enjoyed our time here.

LOVED IT!
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We booked a couple of nights here to see the 2024 eclipse and boy was this the best choice! We had the perfect house for us and our kids, the perfect yard for us to see the eclipse without a crowd, and even a hottub for me and my wife to relax in after the kids went to bed. We enjoyed our stay so much that we booked a third night just to go see the town a bit. Thank you so much!

Historical House
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was just ok. Very old house. Limited and old supplies in the kitchen. The bathroom could use an overhall-beware the old bath tub is a stand alone and very hard to get into. High sides. Shower needs newspout. Water spewed everywhere. Screen doors need repair. Didn't use hot tub. Just ok.

DO NOT STAY HERE
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was challenging and disappointing. The yard and weeds were out of control. Had issues with the AC and the holes in the bathroom were covered with license plates. That was not the worst. The master bedroom was dangerous due to the unleveled floor. It was so unlevel it caused me to fall. The house had great potential if the owner would invest in repair. I don't recommend this location.

Not the cleanest accommodation
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cottage is cute, older with some character to it. Easy to pick keys up and drop off. It is very close to Main Street too. We walked to some things on the west end of Main but had to drive to the East side. It is a very quiet street which we liked. Beds were comfortable (at least the Queen in the back was). Other things... we found 3 live cockroaches and 1 dead one. There was mold growing underneath the mat in the tub. Part of the wall was peeling off in the bathroom as well. The hot tub smelled really bad. Our last night the fire alarm went off at 2:38AM and again in the 8 o’clock hour then shut off (batteries out maybe)? There was no fire. Two of us are terribly allergic to cats and there must have been pets here at some point because we did find dog/cat hair and our allergies were so terrible every time we came back to the place. It is a cute home, aged, floors creaky (which I don’t mind). I think some of the cleanliness concerns could be easily addressed. We still enjoyed our weekend in Fredericksburg nonetheless.

Anniversary Weekend
Overall my Husband and I had great expectations on our visit in Fredericksburg. We were so excited to celebrate our anniversary but also, a long weekend away from our high stressfull careers. When we arrived to the cottage we instantly felt nostalgic with the old feel of the home. We both grew up in old old farmhouses. It wasn’t the most modern or most up to date home we have stayed in through VRBO but we wanted to make it work. It was when we started seeing live roaches and then upon further inspection seeing dead ones under the master bedroom bed it just made us feel uncomfortable in the matter of how clean is this place we have to stay in for 3 more days. Dusting off the dishes before use-The less then great water pressure in the shower-It was ok to us but the bugs were the last our patience could handle. Seeing them scurry across the floor or even sitting on one in the couch- When all you want is to be home-It’s not a Vacation anymore. We messaged the hosts Saturday morning to let them know we were canceling the last of our trip. Although there was an offer for a new place-We were just ready to be home in our own place with no chances. When we got home we found 2 in our toiletree bag that had been set on the bathroom floor at the cottage-We have yet to bring our suitcases into the house from the garage-We instantly washed the blankets and clothes to make sure no bugs would make it further into our home. We are still waiting to hear from Management at 1 o’clock on Monday.

Nice stay and excellent location
I booked this house for my history buff husband. It was really neat staying in such a historic home. We especially loved the kitchen/dining area. Having TVs in both the dining and family room area were great options as well as we could enjoy shows while preparing meals or as a family after dinner all cuddled up on the couches. The kitchen was fully stocked; we found everything we needed except for oven mitts but made do with the dish towels. It's always nice when you can prep meals at home and have all your tools handy. The only thing I'll mention about the overall condition of the house is the foundation. As a previous guest mentioned, the floor is uneven and this is especially noticeable in the back 1/3 of the house where the primary bedroom is located. No one fell but I did slip on an area rug next to the bed because of the slope. Otherwise, this house was a nice stay for us. My little ones refer to this house as "the little house." We didn't use the hot tub or use the outdoors since we had long days exploring Fredericksburg and the surrounding areas, but everything was kept nicely and the backyard was cute and inviting. Thanks again for such a neat stay!
