Fall Getaway
Darling cabin in a serene area. We really enjoyed the back patio that overlooked a peaceful creek. Hosts were very kind and easily accessible. Very clean cabin and about 45 minutes to Natural Bridge and other activities, although if I were to do it again, I’d spend more time simply relaxing at the cabin! You may want to bring extra pillows/blankets. We enjoyed our stay!

BED BUGS!!!!!!!!!!
VRBO limits the size of the review so as much as I'd like to tell the whole story it is simply impossible in the space allowed and many important details will need to be left out. The short version is bed bugs were found after the first night. I have photos of the bites, the shell that a bed bug sheds as it grows, receipts from the doctor and the pharmacy for the cream to try to stop the itching and heal the bites before they became infected but VRBO doesn't provide a place to attach them. The owner agreed to refund the second night of our stay but not the first or any of the fees associated. Their reasoning was VRBO collects the fees and we actually used the cabin the first night. Did I mention that the refund was only contingent on us NOT leaving a review of any kind (take that into consideration when you see a period of no reviews)? Before we left the husband came to the cabin and we explained our displeasure with the situation and that bed bugs are completely different than normal issues that are apparent when you get to a rental. You don't realize you have been bitten until the next morning. He wanted him and his wife to discuss it more and we made the agreement he would call the next day. He never called and when I did make contact they stated that the offer of a partial refund is no longer valid because we left the property and this was on the advice of VRBO. So they have bed bugs, the owners lack integrity and don't stand behind their word. I will never do business with VRBO or this owner (New Beginnings Ranch, LLC) and would highly recommend that no one else does either.

A little piece of heaven
We loved this little cabin, what a beautiful setting…really enjoyed grilling out on back deck and enjoying meals in the screened-in porch room, with the sound of the creek below and views of the meadow and mountain across. Jeff and Angela were very welcoming and obviously take great pride in maintaining the property. Highest recommendation!

Beautiful creek side cabin!
So, we know nothing about Kentucky, but wanted to break up an 18 hour drive to visit grandparents, and sought a place near a natural attraction to break up the trip - and we stumbled on to this wonderful cabin in dry Menafee county. First, the pictures don’t really do this place justice - they don’t show how wonderful the screened in porch is for meals or for coffee in the morning while listening to the creek, and watching turkeys and deer in the fields nearby; second, it is kinda in the middle of nowhere - but if you need some time to detach from screens while the kids play in the creek below and look for fossils, this is the place; Third, Jeff and Angela invited us to watch while they fed a calf and introduced us to their herd of cattle, donkeys, a goat, and were gracious hosts, Fourth- it’s a short drive to red river gorge and incredible hiking (which is where you can buy only-in-Kentucky bourbon if that’s what you’re in to). Really a wonderful place - can’t recommend highly enough.

Serenity
This cabin is a little treasure. Great location for solitude. The sounds of the creek, the rain on the tin roof, made sleeping in the screened in porch one of the highlights of this trip. We would book here again for sure. My only complaint was I really wanted to sleep on the pullout couch or at least lay on it open while we watched tv, but the mattress was bad. You could feel every spring so we just folded it back up. Otherwise it was perfect!..thanks Jeff and Angela for letting us see your baby cow and bunnies😊

Quiet Little Cabin
For a solo traveler, this was the perfect space. It was small, but I did not feel cramped. It offered a nice sized kitchen, a couch and TV, and a loft with a bed. The deck by the creek was very nice too.

We had an excellent time staying at Angela and Jeff’s cabin. They were very hospitable and the cabin was awesome. Our kids played endlessly in the creek while we watched from the screened-in sun room. We cannot wait to return!

Really Enjoyed our Stay
Although the property was listed as sleeping 5 and we ended up paying an additional fee for a 5th, the property was excellent. It was very clean, inviting and the pictures on VRBO do not do it justice. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Listening to the stream while drinking my morning coffee in the screened in porch was just awesome.

This cabin is perfect for a quiet getaway!
The cabin setting is wonderful, it’s nestled back off the main road. The surroundings are beautiful and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to get away from the chaos of everyday life. The cabin is clean and stocked with everything you need. We have no complaints! The owners were available if needed and very friendly.

This cabin is a slice of heaven. We rented it as a home base while climbing in the Red. While it was a bit of a drive to our climbing areas, the cabin made it 100% worthwhile and we will be back. The stream provided hours of entertainment for our two boys. The screened in porch was a delight for both early morning coffee (watching the mist roll off the surrounding mountains) and late evening games of Yahtzee with the boys. The owners were readily accessible but not intrusive and even showed our boys all their lovely farm animals. I highly recommend staying here.....just don’t fill up any weeks I want :)

As advertised!
Tranquil Waters Cabin was a little slice of heaven/home for me on my annual april pilgramage to the gorge with my pup! I'm a country girl living in the city so this cabin snuggled me up in its country arms! Neat as a pin with everything you'd need & friendly hosts at rhe main house which is just up the road apiece. Complete privacy & just a drive up 77N from the gorge. Thank you Angela & Jeff! See you next April? Erin & Sweetie

Adorable, Comfortable, Quiet, Well-Hosted
Yes. Five stars. On check-in process alone, our experience was excellent. The hosts provided a printed copy of the contract, provided insights to the surrounding area, obliged all of my asinine questions, and made us feel welcome after our 13-hour drive. Before we left there house (which is about a quarter mile away and mostly out of sight) they made sure that we knew they were only a phone call away at any time. If you're new to this airbnb/vrbo thing, this isn't always the case and makes a huge difference in case something goes awry. Winter being nearly in full swing, they had the cabin heated before we arrived. If you're also from Florida, you know how much of a difference this makes. The cabin was spotless and well laid out. Despite being small, it was easy to keep all of our bags and gear organized (read: piles of gear). The kitchen is fully equipped: stove, oven, microwave, dish soap and scrubber, fridge, free coffee, and plenty of counter space for dry goods and whatnot. Other noteworthy points: the bed is comfortable, the shower is hot with good pressure, the creek behind the cabin is icing on the cake and does swell a small river when it rains (aka don't leave stuff on the bank), the road in was well paved and cleared, and the driveway has plenty of room for two cars. Climbers: The Red is basically down the street. The drive was about twenty minutes leading over the ridge before gorge, putting Slade just another fifteen minutes or so away as well. KEY NOTE: the back deck is massive. Their covered, screened in porch will be life saver for gear overflow. It was also a great place for morning coffee. TLDR: stay here, then stay here again. Tell your friends to stay here. Respect these incredible hosts so we can all keep renting this spot. Disclaimer: I have no ties to the hosts (and frankly can't remember their names at the moment). Cheers.

Very lovely, secluded, beautiful spot of land
We were staying here while spending a weekend traipsing about Kentucky. It was a great place to come home to and we loved pretty much everything about it. Due to our schedule, we didnt meet the hosts until we were leaving, but they were available our whole stay and were friendly, nice people. Would recommend 100%

Perfect home away from home. Clean! Quiet! Dogs welcome!
Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!! Absolutely loved the cabin, location and owners! We wanted for nothing and could have asked for anything. Welcoming and friendly, openly welcomed our two well behaved dogs, and invited us to meet their own fur babies. Wonderful home away from home feeling, could cook dinner and eat in the out door patio with heat at our backs while listening to the creek below us! Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay, and can’t wait to go back. Not a single complaint! ❤️
