Escape to Trailhead Lodge: Steps from National Park Adventure!

Nestled in the heart of the Smoky Mountains, our cozy cabin is just steps from the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and the Cove Mountain Trailhead, perfect for hiking to waterfalls, exploring the Sugarlands Visitor Center, or taking in the stunning views from the Ober Mountain Ski Lift. It's the ideal location for adventurers and those seeking a peaceful getaway!

Our cabin sleeps 8 comfortably, with 2 spacious king bedrooms and a fun basement area with 2 sets of bunk beds (4 twin beds total), perfect for kids or friends. The master suite occupies the entire second floor, complete with a luxurious ensuite, private coffee and bourbon bar, and its own balcony lit by twinkling string lights—ideal for winding down under the stars with your favorite drink.

The fully stocked kitchen makes meal prep a breeze, whether you're planning a big family meal at the log dining table (seats 6) or grabbing a quick bite at the island with 4 barstools. A coffee bar and ice machine in the dining area add an extra touch of convenience.

The basement is an entertainment haven, with a pool table, arcade games, a library, and a large screen TV for cozy movie nights. You'll also find 2 sets of bunk beds and a half-bath, making it the perfect spot for fun and relaxation.

Outside, enjoy two decks with plenty of dining space, a hot tub that seats 4, and a gas grill for evening BBQs. And for our bear lovers—yes, you’ll likely see them daily! We’re in the heart of bear country, so be sure to lock your car doors and admire these beautiful creatures from afar.

Please note, our cabin features a steep driveway, but there’s a flat concrete pad for parking along the road if you'd prefer not to make the drive up. The roads are narrow, windy, and steep, but they’re paved and well-traveled. If the garbage trucks can make it, so can you!

Whether you’re here for adventure or relaxation, our cabin offers a perfect blend of both. Unwind with nature’s beauty just outside your door and create unforgettable memories in this serene mountain retreat.

OTHER DETAILS TO NOTE:
1.) Check-in is at 4pm
Check-out at 10am
2.) We provide Spectrum cable channels as well as smart TVs to stream your favorite shows
3.) Spotty cellphone service inside cabin. Make note of this before booking. Wicked fast internet though, so can text throughout property.
4.) Hot tub is professionally cleaned before and after each guest
5.) Approx 20 steps to reach front door, but otherwise very easy mobility around space
6.) No smoking or vaping in the chalet
7.) We are surrounded by trees. While this is peaceful, it does mean you will encounter bugs, insects, spiders, leaves, pollen, small twigs. Pollen and leaves will settle on outdoor furniture and decking. After rain, outdoor cushions will be wet. During the colder months, small wildlife critters (such as mice) may attempt to reach warmth inside the chalet. Nature tries to make itself cozy. While the house is professionally cleaned, keep in mind the house is still a mountain cabin amongst nature and wildlife. Our property is professionally sprayed for bugs on a regular basis as part of our preventative maintenance to ensure a clean and comfortable stay.
8.) 4 wheel drive recommended during some winter months based on weather. Even though roads are plowed, there are times when driving may be dangerous during winter storms.
9.) Steep driveway. Normal vehicles can drive up driveway. Park at bottom flat parking area if driveway covered in dusting of snow or if snow is forecasted.
10.) Damage protection - The $40 charge listed as a "management fee" on your quote covers your purchase of $1500 of "all risk" damage protection coverage on the rental property. This protection is purchased in lieu of a cash damage deposit. Coverage details are spelled out in the rental agreement.
11.) High bear activity. These rascals are smart! Lock your car doors. Do not leave food outside unattended or bear will invite themselves over for dinner. Their sense of smell is 7x that of a bloodhound. Enjoy from a distance. Do not attempt to get closer.
12.) In extreme cold weather, the hot tub is designed to maintain a cozy temperature between 100°F and 104°F when the cover is on. However, when the cover is off, the water temperature will naturally drop 5 degrees per hour due to exposure to the cold air. This is completely normal and part of how hot tubs work. To keep the water warm for your enjoyment, we recommend limiting the time the cover is off when the tub is not in use

Lovely Cabin
We had a wonderful before Christmas stay! The cabin is so beautiful. The kids had the best time with the pool table and video games in the basement. We hope to return!

A Beary Merry Time
The cabin is exactly as pictured. We walked in to a beautifully placed table and impeccably clean house. As mentioned, the driveway can be tough, if able I recommend getting there in daylight to help. (You have to give it gas.) Amy was an amazing host! We did have to call her upon arrival and she advised there is a trick to the door. (Pull toward you while entering the code. It will hang up on occassion.) You will see BEARs!! They came around 8-9 am, and again around 4-6 pm. They greeted our party when we arrived, and we did have to wait them out. We were traveling with a dog, so we used two deck chairs across the top of the steps as a deterrent and to keep her up on the deck with us. This also helped warn us when a bear did come up on the deck while we were all inside. We made sure the doors were locked and watched it from inside at the kitchen table. Once it moved on, we replaced the chairs on the steps and straightened up the small mess it made of the grill (going after the drippings). Be cautious loading your car in the morning. The bears did reappear while we were in the middle of loading up. (Be sure to use a buddy system with 1 person watching from high up.) 1000% considering returning to this exact cabin on our next trip out (spring). The drive was beautiful. The beds were fantastic. The cabin was perfect for our couples get-away. We loved the proximity to town and the trails, while still being remote. We cannot wait to return, and are alreadyvlooking for date
