"We had a wonderful weekend here and can’t recommend it enough. Beautiful property lovingly restored. The owners were perfect hosts and the hotel and gardens are a calming oasis in the middle of town. We will try to visit Ghent again in a quieter time and will definitely head for the B&B The Verhaegen. "

"This lodging was ideal for a visit to Ghent. I picked it for its location (5 minute walk from StPieters train station but loved everything about it. Staff was friendly, efficient and very helpful. Room was large by European standards. Buffet breakfast (with made to order eggs and mini pancakes) was excellent. "We had an excellent stay for two nights in a room of four. Great staff, great area, very easy to walk to everywhere. Good underground parking lot at less than five minute walk for 15 euros. Only downside for us is that the walls seem pretty thin so we could hear outside noise when there was some. To be expected in an old building. All in all, we had a very nice time in Ghent it is a great city."
