"What a treat it was to stay at the Hydrangea Inn. Joan was a gracious hostess who made us feel right at home. The breakfast was delicious and a great time to ask Joan questions about the area. "Run by the kindest people (and friendliest cats!) in all of Salem, and could not possibly be more centrally located! You can walk everywhere from here, and you have a front row seat to any events in the square - it's literally right across the street. Parking in Salem is at a premium, and we are driving a crew cab truck to make it even worse, but Matt went WELL above and beyond to make sure we got a great spot. "It was located conveniently for shops and the park and the rooms and bedding were very clean. The cleaning staff kept on top of the communal bathrooms but the cleanliness would depend on the guests that used it in between the cleaning. The picture you see in the advert is not the rooms i looked at or stayed in. The rooms are a lots more worn with some dark decor and peeling wallpaper with worn carpeting in areas, not polished wood floors as seen in pictures. That said it is clean, fresh clean...
