"The rains definitely started to fall two days into our 3 day visit to Hilo and we desired to move from our relatively off-grid Hipcamp (which we loved!) into an actual hotel room with amenities. Dolphin Bay has been a bucket list hotel for me and sure enough, I checked Hotels.com to see if they had a room on the fly and they did! and one with a kitchen...PERFECT! Chrissy was so friendly and welcomed us and told us about things to see locally. The kitchen was immaculate and well set up. We were able to cook up a delightful gourmet dinner, wash and dry our laundry, I took a nice long bath annnnd I had Hallmark Christmas movies on almost the entire time...The rains just fell and fell outside the entire night and through the next day and it was soooo relaxing to just have the windows open listening to the rains and even thunder. Odie (I think his name is ) the kitty came in to visit us when my hubby opened the door. We love kitties and he is just a precious one; we welcomed him right in and he hung out with us the day of our checkout. The coffee and Banana Bread in the lobby was such an Amazing treat. We already had a reservation for another hotel on the waterfront just a few miles away so we checked with Katie in the lobby and she gave us the go ahead for a very relaxing Late checkout which worked perfectly to meet our reservation at the other hotel. She found out Kauai was on our itinerary and gave my husband some great info on places to visit. We love Dolphin Bay!"

"We had an amazing time from the moment we called to see if we could get an early check-in and got the blessing from Megan who gave us the go ahead to come on in as they already a room ready for us. We had a corner oceanfront room and - even on the stormy Rainy day - it was just so wonderful to sit out on the balcony enjoying the view. We were so relaxed and it was just a dream getaway. We definitely intend to stay at The Grand Naniloa anytime we stay in Hilo in the future."

"The property was exactly as described. Great location and central to all we wanted to do. We slept great with ocean breezes and never had a problem with no a/c. The driveway was steep but we knew that from our instructions and we expected that with level where we parked and unloaded."

"SCP Hilo has the absolute best service and amenities, including free bike and paddle board usage as available. They also have an incredible pool, a wonderful garden, and a very unique and serene coy fish pond. SCP is also located within walking distance of many wonderful places to visit, such as Coconut Island and Liliʻuokalani Gardens. There are also a lot of fantastic food venues in walking distance, but you will likely find yourself returning to the Coconut Grill more often than not. The Vietnamese restaurant, New Saigon, located nearby is also fantastic. Lastly, there are a few bus stops in short walking distance, and since the buses are free, why rent a car at all? My wife and I had a fantastic late honeymoon here, and I can't recommend them enough! Book a stay at SCP and see what we mean! Aloha!"

"Wonderful staff. We got a recently renovated room with a kitchenette which was great. This place is not new and it’s not fancy. But we don’t need that. It felt like home. And I must repeat: the staff was wonderful. "

"The home was exactly as advertised. It was a nice place for my wife and I to enjoy some time away. It was a bit further from Pahoa than we expected, and having to bring our own water for drinking was inconvenient, but overall we definitely enjoyed our stay and used the snorkeling equipment."
