"Difficulty with check in. Key Codes not sent until after noon. We had problems with our cell service so didn’t get email. Phone call didn’t go through. Had to stop at a restaurant to use their WiFi ti get email to get in. Email should be sent earlier in the morning. Opened Windows for air in room, but people were smoking at front door to Hotel and smoke came into our room several times, even at 6 am! "

"While we ultimately enjoyed our stay at a two-bedroom cottage, we were upset that the additional charge for bed linens and towels was not transparent at the time of booking. We travel on a budget and did not expect an extra charge on top of the rate for the night. They charge 140kr per person for bed linens and towels. You will get an email about this AFTER you make a reservation. There is also a charge for cleaning, which is quite high, but we found this easy to avoid if you agree to tidy up...

"Ideal for what we needed ... a snowy ski adventure somewhere different. We had 6 staying, which meant it was spacious. 2 more would probably have been fine still. More than that would probably have felt a bit of a squeeze. Facilities were great. Kitchen is well appointed, but not ideal layout for lots of people. My preference would be to have a microwave and a real coffee maker of some kind, but that's a personal preference rather than criticism of the accommodation. Had some fantastic times...

"Nice cabin with evertthing you need. We came end of August, all the cabins are empty. No other people. It is 20 km to a shop or petrolstation. There was less gas in the bottles and no wood for fire. 😭 A beautifull place to stay in nature."

Parking was a disaster. They lack control of which car is parked where. We had cars parked on handicapped spots, on charging without charging, took 2 spots with 1 car and other places that they shouldn't. 9 out of 10 car that didn't follow the customs were Danish or Swedish. "The Scandic Hamar is a very clean hotel and they offer a good breakfast buffet. The beds were comfortable and the rooms well appointed. What was not so good was the staff and their attitude toward guests. They were not friendly, did not smile or offer a welcoming word. In most interactions, they seemed almost annoyed to be bothered by have to check in guests, answer questions or service the breakfast buffet.
