The city’s bustling central district hosts an inspiring collection of fantastic galleries, remarkable buildings and a landmark department store offering eight floors of Finnish style.

Admire Finland’s largest collection of paintings and sculptures and enjoy the sight of an award-winning chapel in Kamppi. See the grand structure that holds the nation’s government and relax in front of a show at the fabulous underground auditorium.

Nowhere in Finland will you find a larger variety of high quality museums than in Kamppi. A great place to begin is the National Museum of Finland. View enthralling exhibits that chart history from prehistoric times. Don’t miss the basement treasury with its glistening coins, medals and swords.

Continue until you reach the Temppeliaukio ChurchOpens in a new window. This remarkable structure is built into solid stone with sheet glass and copper stripping forming a beautiful domed roof. Check online or at the tourist office in town for times of upcoming concerts.

Don’t miss Kamppi ChapelOpens in a new window in Narinkkatori Square. Crafted from intricately shaped wood, the chapel has been awarded several international architecture awards.

The square’s other point of interest is the vast StockmannOpens in a new window shopping center. Delight in all the latest designer labels of clothes, perfumes and electronic gadgets. Find some of the best restaurants in the district here, with a range of internationally themed menus available.

Find Helsinki’s main train station in Kamppi. Buses travel regularly from here to other parts of the city.
