"We loved our stay at Arabella. Loved the simplicity and size of the rooms. Kept very clean and tidy by the staff. Cute offering of bananas for supper in the room with the turn down service. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Pool area was on the small size but we had no problem using it when we wanted to. Kitchen and kitchen staff were A . Food and service was amazing highly recommend the chimichurri prawns & the prawn or fish tacos! All breakfast options were great also! Tuk Tuks available outside the property cost us 1200 rupees to the fort which is approx 15 minutes away. Beach not suitable for swimming but a lot of the Sri Lankan coastline is rough like this and if you want to be able to swim in the ocean you’ll need to stay at one of the touristy areas which actually make great day trips from the hotel. Great spot for a walk along the beach. We went in the peak tourist season & found this good value for money for our family would happily stay again. Staff attentive even playing cricket with our son. Cons No kettle in the room for making tea only a coffee machine so you need to wait for the kitchen to open at 8am before you can get a pot of tea- would be nice to have one in the room If you’re in room 1 it is closest to the road and you might need some ear plugs or white noise. Also suggest an eye mask as there are shutters that allow the light through. Breakfast not available till 8 when the kitchen/restaurant opens would be nicer if it opened a little earlier "

"Sweet place to stay…right on the beach! Turtles were there…surrounded by tourists! The staff were friendly and kind. Obs not luxury but for a cheap time on the beach very good! Outstanding curry at The Bistro "

"Wow.... we were blown away when we first arrived at the Villa even though we arrived during a big storm! We stayed over Christmas and New Year with my parents and my teenage boys and we all had a wonderful time. Susantha, Yasiru, Hindy and Bandullah were all fantastic and really helped to make our holiday truly magical. The villa is beautiful and we all had plenty of space to not get on top of each other. The kids enjoyed spending lots of time in the pool and relaxing by the beach on the sun loungers. The food Yasiru and Hindy prepared each day was amazing, fresh and clean everyone enjoyed it. We will definitely be back "

"Staff were lovely. Although not quite prepared for our arrival, they sprung into action to prepare our rooms. Rooms were clean and spacious and had basic furniture and en-suite shower rooms. Air con in bedroom. Stairs only, up to the second floor. Lovely balcony with overhanging roof to reduce any rain coming onto balcony. Small but clean pool and always a sun bed available when we wanted one. Small bar area. About 800m to nearest section of beach but a bit further to supermarket and beaches, bars and restaurants that we wanted to go to - between 1.5 to 3 km approximately. Walkable on roadside and easy in a tuk tuk. Banks with cash machines also at this distance from hotel. We really enjoyed our stay. "
