"We had a fantastic few days staying at the Royal Oak. Our room was perfect - very clean with extremely comfortable beds, an amazing shower and a lovely view straight onto the river. Lots of walking straight from the door, handy drying room for wet kit and lovely cosy bar and lounge for an after walk drink and board game. Dinner was absolutely delicious with a choice of three options each night. Highly recommended - we will definitely return!"

"When we arrived our original accommodation was no longer available due to essential work going on. Hotel upgraded us to a de luxe room with lake view, and gave us 7 days of full English breakfasts, all at no extra charge. Excellent staff! Friendly and approachable. "Lovely place to stay for a couple of nights. Staff were very welcoming.Room was fine just a little warm so just left the widow open a little. Toilets & showers were clean. Kitchen was great. Breakfast was okay wouldve been better if the bacon / hash browns were warmer. Good for a hungry person as they give you more if you ask. Had very noisy neighbours but thats not the staffs fault just very thoughtless people that obviously thought they had the whole building to themselves."
