"Stayed here twice sandwiching a trip to Kuala Lumpur. I repeat my comments from my previous review. I cannot rate this hotel to highly. It’s a beautiful setting on the beach. I think it has four swimming pools of course regardless of the facilities, the thing that makes or breaks any establishment is it staff. The people here are lovely and cannot do enough for you. The local resort of Kamala is only five minutes walk away and is a nice quiet strip of restaurants, bars and shops . No excessive noise , go go bars or being pestered . Ideal location for a family or mature people who like a bit of peace and quiet. However, if you want things a bit busier PATONG is only 15 mins away . I have been to Thailand probably 20 times over the last 40 years and this is my favourite hotel."

"The slate is one of the best resorts in all of Phuket. We have been to many different places here and the Slate has it all. From Black Ginger to the cooking classes this place is absolutely wonderful. Beautiful resort with every amenity you could ask for! With this beauty and service comes a price tag that is expensive for Thailand standards but still somewhat affordable. The breakfast is a delight and the service is perfect from check in to servers and working staff everyone is top notch. Great place for families and couples alike."

"Property is very nice - very quiet and serene. Beach requires shuttle/boat, which isn’t bad but it’s not really walkable. The boat is a bit irregular on schedule. One night we were stuck on beach for longer than expected, but staff at the partner beach resort and banyan tree helped us with the shuttle."
