"One of the best places to stay. The resort retains the old Kerala vibe although providing all the modern amenities one requires for a comfortable stay. The staff is courteous, warm and responsive. Their breakfast spread is nice. It’s worth the money spent. "

"Room rates are high for the quality of amenities provided and overall services. There's no room service, the on site cafe uses concentrates for all beverages, and some of these containers are not even close to being stored hygienically. The staff are ok but service is slow if you want extra towels etc. The view from the room is 10/10, waking upto a beautiful sunrise is serene. Access to the beach is easy and tedious at the same time. Overall we did have a good time."

"the location is amazing ...overlooking the sea with access to wide open beaches and no people - a big contrast to Verkala north cliff beach. The place was clean , modern and the staff went out of their way to assist us with adapters, taxis, etc... The food was excellent though a bit overpriced. I would love to visit again !"

"The Thiruvambadi is a great hotel. It’s in a convenient spot at the very end of the cliff ‘strip’ so, if you turn left out of the hotel, you’ve can walk along the clifftop past lots of shops and an endless choice of restaurants. However, turn left and you’re soon wandering along quiet, picturesque beaches. The aquarium’s good too. "Really sweet spot just off the beach up a commerce alley. Jishnu the host was very nice and helpful with getting comfortable. Hot shower if you want it - but I’ve learned to love taking cold showers here - and the bathroom was perfectly clean and well appointed. I will be back here at the Gypsy next year for sure."

"We were a honeymoon couple and we were not given the category of room which we had asked for and booked for- floating room. Whilst booking we had called the hotel that we particularly want the floating room when booked with expedia but not given. Even the staff is lousy. Expedia staff kept calling the hotel but the night Reception staff kept hanging their phone without answering and finally kept the phone aside.spoiled our honeymoon plans. "

"The pictures posted to advertise this place and rating as 4-star was deceiving. We booked deluxe rooms, on entry the reception area was dark, no proper lighting and looked like we walked into haunted place. On entry to room, all I can smell was cigarettes smoke, room was unkempt, the walls were filthy, peeling of wallpapers or paint, stained chairs, flickering light in the toilet, chipped cups etc.. List gets bigger and bigger, I don't want to waste any further time with a review for this hotel...

"The reception staff was very friendly. However the room was a disappointment. There was not toilet paper, the sheets were dirty and stained. I had to use a towel on the bottom sheet and slept in my clothes. I booked for two nights and stayed one night and checked out. The location was nice very close to the beach and local restaurants. I would not recommend staying here. "
