"Check in was incredibly awful, 40 mins in 35 degree heat outside because the property owner did not send a valid door code. Ended up calling hotels.com who managed to sort but at a cost in phones, patience and valuable holiday time as well as cooking in the heat. Dreadful check in.... cannot recommend for this reason by itself. Found last occupants' food in the microwave.... otherwise property was ok. Beware, check in appears to be issue looking at previous reviews - avoid... "

"Toyoko Inn is conveniently located close to Kagoshimachuo Station - a major transportation and business center, therefore close to shopping and restaurants. The large Toyoko Inn sign on a building is a little misleading, as the Inn itself is next door, closer to the station. The only downside to some is that the facility is a little dated but very functional. "

"Hostel was all good! Some pretty fancy toilets. It did get a little loud at night in the men's dorm due to the trains every now and then but a couple of ear plugs solved that problem. Great location close to Kagoshima-Chuo and food vendors. Pretty happy with everything given the price I paid."

"Excellent all rounder for food, shopping, transport, everything is walkable, is also the last/first stop for the Kagoshima city view bus, which is very convenient for seeing all the main sites within the city. The only thing we had issues with was the sleeping arrangement - bed hardness was inconsistent, one bed was much harder than the other in our room, and pillow options were not great (the firmer one had beads on one side, not very comfortable, and the softer option was so soft it was like...

"The German inspired style of the room and furniture was fun and interesting. There were some parts of the room that could be updated (There was a lamp shade that was cracked and the bathroom had some water damage). The shampoo/conditioner bar was so much fun as you got to pick which ones were your favorite and bring some to your room. The breakfast was also really good. The location is really close to the main station so it was easy to take public transfer to and from there."
