Pleasant 1 night stay
Welcoming & friendly staff. Food good, but no steak, Bran Flakes & only cheese & onion crisps. No wifi in rooms just in public area.
Friendly and efficient check-in process. Very large room with full bathroom. However, we noted upon entering that the shower gel dispenser was empty. When we requested it to be filled, we were given a very strange response as to why they had been instructed not to refill the shower gel (ranging from "allergies" to "Covid restrictions". Neither of these excuses made sense, since the hand soap dispenser in the bathroom was half filled with soap (therefore the "allergies" meant nothing, and we have not had any Covid restrictions in England for a number of weeks. Our room booking was for a "Deluxe" room (including toiletries) - not providing shower gel does not mean deluxe in my opinion.
Our booking also said that free wi-fi was available throughout. While we could easily access the wi-fi in the downstairs bar, it was impossible to do so in the room, meaning we could not carry out a couple of work related tasks which we needed to do.
We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and upon arrival were told that we had the last available slot (7.50 a.m.). I have no idea why the breakfast service has to start so early as the place was not exactly full. Breakfast was OK.
Our room was right beside the extractor from the kitchen which came on at 6.30 a.m. and woke us up.
Hotel location near to M6 was perfect for our needs.
Our room was very comfortable and clean.
Breakfast was delicious. An excellent range of beers were available at a reasonable price (by today's standards). Dining facilities left a lot to be desired and nobody seemed to be eating there. At last we found a room with a TV that you didn't need a degree to watch
You just pressed the power button and then the required channel
Hooray
our party of 5 arrived at 10.45 on a sunday morning to go to a wedding at the mere resort,we tried booking a taxi to take us to the mere for 12 00,this was not possible as all taxis were fully booked, the owner of the hotel was amazing as he let us check in early to drop our belongings and then he offered to take us to the venue to which we duely accepting,we woke next morning to a lovely cooked breakfast, had a lovely night sleep in a nice comfy bed,all i can say is thank you for going above and beyond to make our stay so memorable
The service we received from this hotel was amazing. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed. The food was delicious and quickly received. I would definitely stay here again.

Needs alot of TLC
The hotel is under new ownership and needs alot of refurbishment.
As the kitchen seems to be the priority dinner was only available until 2030 and breakfast from 0700 to 0815!
All areas need updating. eg bedroom curtains threadbare and dirty
Excellent service from friendly staff, parking was good and it was easy to find just of the M6. We had a nice big room with a couch and 2 chairs. Will definitely stay again.
Good food, nice bar with plenty of options, very good service.
Rooms are nice, good shower and comfy bed. Upstairs was very hot, had to open window and room backs onto busy road. There was loud music playing downstairs which was very nousy in the bedroom, went on until about midnight. Looks like an old building so probably not very sound proof.

Great Location for Travellers
Extensive roadworks made it difficult to access the hotel when we visited. However they were very nearly finished and the result will be a much improved Motorway Junction 19.
Make sure you look out for the B5391 Pickmere Lane, where the entrance is.
The hotel has new management, and coping with the COVID situation along with the roadworks must have been a headache.
The Room was a good size and clean.
Foodwise the evening meal was fine on a limited menu. Breakfast has all the usual choices although our cook was a little inexperienced. His humour and enthusiasm made up for this though.
Give them a try, it'll be worth it.
Ben who seems able to do everything from welcoming, serving drinks and making breakfast is amazing, well done. Shame the construction work nearby caused early morning noise however it didn't spoil our stay, lovely place to stay
