"We had a great experience at Lanzarote Barcelo Active Resort. Lots of fun activities for the kids. Close to airport and beaches. Big rooms. Good food options in buffet. Would have liked more vegetarian main course options. One suggestion to have separation between vegetarian and non-vegetarian to avoid cross contamination. Lanzarote is a beautiful island to visit. Definitely recommend."

"I stay here once or twice a year without hesitation. Everyone I deal with from Moh the waiter to the housekeeping maids like Anita are so helpful and friendly. It's a great tribute to the hotel that the staff are so excellent and continue to work for Riu. A massive turnaround of guests and they do it seamlessly. Fantastic! "

"Amazing family stay. Entertainment for kids and adults was on throughout the day and night. Staff were friendly. Food options included plenty of variety. Lots of different pools, only point would be to request that an additional pool is heated during winter months as the bigger ones weren’t used a much. Spa was lovely, games rooms kept the children busy. Room was as you’d expect, a little extra wardrobe space would be good. Quiet spot location wise, roughly 30 min walk (enjoyable along the coastal path) to the sandy beach and shops at a slowish pace. Would highly recommend as a Christmas / New Years break"

"The hotel is very relaxing, the atmosphere is serene. We stayed in December and it had a number of heated pools. There were always available sun loungers. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed. Breakfast was great. "

"We stayed during Christmas period and really appreciate the hard work of all staff at reception, restaurant etc to provide normal desk service, cleaning of our room, pool, and various kind of activities. Our door lock is also quickly repaired. They are very professional and friendly. It makes our holiday a pleasant stay. Even our room is not the modern style, we are very happy with the layout with a living room and beautiful seaview/pool view at balcony. Great location, easy to walk around and we also took free shuttle to Playa Grande. "

"Lovely hotel, great location. Fantastic facilities, everywhere was spotless. Animation team were lovely and the classes were great. Went with the prefared club which is well worth it for the lovely infinity heated pool alone. Got a lovely receptionist who welcomed us, didn't get her name but she had short grey hair and glasses. We also got an upgrade which was brilliant and really appreciated.Having the minibar topped up every day was super and the turn down service was a nice touch. The only reason I didn't give 5 star for staff was because the chefs who do the omelettes & fried eggs were grumpy and rude. Breakfast is until 10:30 but if you know what's good for you, you won't go to get an egg after 10:20."
