"The hotel is nice, but the surrounding area it’s residential dirty, noisy and it’s still under development. The price it’s too high for what it offers. I would not recommend this location. "

"Beautiful resort in really good condition. apparently refurbished in 2019 and still looking great with no aesthetic issues you would find in a 'tired' resort. the lobby is so tastefully done and much more warm and welcoming than others, including the Jalisco.
We stayed here in 2010 and really liked the feel and how much entertainment there was. this time we had our kids and they loved the beach and felt safe walking around on their own.
with the time of year the pools were really warm so not really refreshing. the swim up bar was better as there was more shade. the ocean was reallly warm for us but so nice to be in.
Food was good with a nice selection in the buffet. we didn't try the steak house because of the wait time but found the italian restaurant was fantastic (and a really good steak there).
Room was modern, AC worked well but sometimes stopped coming on and you had to turn off/on or open the sliding door then close again for it to kick in. ceiling fan was like a washing machine running. beds were too hard for my liking but everyone else seemed to enjoy them. bathroom was nice with a spacious shower. had to ask for more TP or towels sometimes but generally housekeeping was good.
Entertainment was fun with lots of music and performances. really cool that you can go over to the Riu Jalisco for the Friday white/neon parties. we walked along the beach to get there instead of waiting for a bus.
Would totally recommend Riu and loved visiting for a second time!"
"This was honestly one of the best resorts I have ever been to. The customer service and friendly staff are unmatched. The food is impeccable, which is saying a lot because my husband and I fancy ourselves the most bite."

10/10 Excellent
"The property was extremely well maintained. The beach is beautiful and you can walk for miles in either direction. There is no seaweed problem in Puerto Vallarta! Food options at the hotel are delicious but for a stay longer than 5 days you will likely repeat meals. The Italian "pop-up" pizza and pasta was outstanding. Service was great poolside and at the restaurants."
