"I hope I can put into words what a special place the Plantation Lodge is and how it has a place in my heart now. It was truly magical. I would hands down recommend a stay to anyone here who wants a lovely, peaceful, stress free environment. From the generously portioned breakfast made with loving hands from Loeki (the pancakes yumm, omelets, fresh juices and coffee all of it - the best)!! The warm welcomes from the doggies, made my day, everyday! It’s all fantastic. Our room was large and well appointed. Clean pool, hiking trails to salt flats, and the small details like tightly made bed and mint, cucumber, orange waters next to the bed upon return from the beach, the library- made this stay truly remarkable. I felt safe and cared for the entire week. I actually cried leaving, there are not many places have ever done that to me. I am already trying to figure out ways to get back. The island is a special place, but I believe it’s the beautiful soul of Loeki and the other awesome guests that also stay there. Just make sure you keep your eye on digger the lab so he doesn’t go off with wandering ladies on the trail, my husband almost made the local news letting digger wander off with them, but we had a laugh about it thankfully! ;) My husband and I will be back. If anyone is hesitating booking, Do not hesitate, you will never regret booking at the Jan Thiel Plantation. "

"We've just came back from a 9-night stay at Dolphin Suites and everything was excellent. Even before we arrived we have been organizing part of our trip with them through WhatsApp, such as the tour to Klein Curacao and looking for affordable car rental (DO plan ahead of time and reserve your rental prior to arrival as during high season you'll find that there's not much available). The staff has been always attentive to our needs and resolved them promptly, not that we have a lot of them but the ones we had were solved as described. If you are not intending to look for a hotel near or in Willemstad, I'd say try Mambo Beach and Dolphin Suites instead: it's 1 1/2 miles away from downtown so it's close enough. To get to the most popular beaches in Curacao it may add you 10 more minutes of travel time as opposed to staying in down town. We didn't mind it at all. Dolphin Suites does have limited parking space within the hotel's premises, but it has a private parking lot next to it that will charge you USD 3 every time you park. However, the hotel we'll reimburse you every single time once you present the pay receipt. The hotel has an arrangement with the Madero Ocean Club at Mambo Beach, so you get free passes to the beach and their sun beds. They also give you beach towels for free that you can take with you as you visit all of Curacao's beaches. The Reef's Cafe at the hotel serves breakfast for an extra charge that is really good, and I'd say of better quality than the ones ser"
