The Space:
Loburn Retreat 1 by Tiny Away sits in a quiet, rural location of the south Island New Zealand, just 12 minutes from the lively historic farming town of Rangiora and 40 minutes from Christchurch Airport. The central city of Christchurch is approximately 40 kilometers to the south of Rangiora. Explore more of this countryside escape, conveniently located near attractions such as Waikuku Beach, many Rangiora restaurants and cafes, and the popular Ohoka Farmer's Market.

Within a short 20-minute drive, you can reach the beautiful beaches of the Pegasus Coastline, and a little further, discover the wonders of Willowbank Wildlife Reserve. The tiny home is perched on a sloped block, positioned on the lower levels, so guests should be prepared to navigate the incline. Nearby, guests have exclusive access to a private woodland area with pine, willow, and native trees. This area includes a slackline, a teepee with firepit and seating, a labyrinth walk, and a community space featuring a games room, an art room, a relaxation area and artistically created composting toilet.

A cozy 139-square-foot tiny home with easy water access, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent private bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas-heated for hot showers).

Loburn Retreat provides access to clean, filtered drinking water and seasonal herbs for making your own tea fresh from the garden. Supermarkets are located 10 minutes easy drive away for all your food needs.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Loburn Retreat 1 is on a usually quiet 100km no-through road, though local traffic and occasional logging trucks may pass. Guests have access to all buildings and relaxation areas, which may be shared with a small number of other guests during your stay. Your peace and privacy are important to us.

Please be advised that we have another tiny house named "Loburn Retreat 2 by Tiny Away" on the property. If you want to book in groups, please contact your land host 24 hrs in advance to make arrangements.

Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the tiny home and its surrounding areas. Please note that access to the main house, decking, and bus accommodation for backpackers and garden helpers will be restricted.

Backpacker accommodation is situated at the far end of the property, out of sight from the tiny homes, with minimal to no contact expected except in the community spaces. Town amenities, mountain bush walks, and ocean-side strolls are just a short drive away. The clear skies also offer excellent star-gazing opportunities around a real fire.
