"Ho hum. The hotel turns out to be a different hotel a little way down the street. The E17.00 breakfast is average - I’d suggest getting something at the nearby bakery and having breakfast on a bench by the river. So, overall it’s ok but probably a little past it’s best. "

"This is a very nice and cosy boutique hôtel close the city center, at the bottom of the famous Citadelle. Rooms are very comfortable (decoration style is bold… you like it or not) and the real cherry on the cake is an excellent and affordable restaurant on site. Staff is super friendly and helpful. It was not my first time there and it won’t be the last."
"Only negative comment would be the small space available for where bed has to be located with low ceiling on the inside half.
We didn’t feel like sleeping in the double bed during our stay because of this especially in the hot weather. It felt too stuffy and the person who ends up on the inside May feel slightly trapped.
I also had to call the concierge twice expecting the ‘access to property information’, which should have been more timely than it was to provide peace of mind that all is...
"A lovely quirky hotel with very friendly, welcoming staff and an excellent breakfast (check out the pancake making machine and freshly squeezed OJ!) Suggest booking ahead if you want to eat in either of the restaurants as they were fully booked when we arrived but the chap on reception gave us several recommended lical restaurants in walking distance and then booked a lively little fanily run Italian restaurant for us. Highly recommended and very good VfM"
"A comfortable hotel, but Hotels.com needs to make it clearer that this is one of those European hotels without staff, where one needs codes to enter the building and room. Unfortunately, the hotel never sent me the codes, and I stood outside the door for a good ten minutes before a kind passerby helped me by calling the hotel for me to ge the codes (my US phone doesn't work in Europe). Aside from that pretty major mistake, the room was fine."

"Wij verbleven er met de kinderen, kleinkindjes en 3 honden. We waren met 12. Alles was meer dan voldoende aanwezig. Zalig toekomen, opgemaakte bedden en handdoeken genoeg voorradig, onze vakantie kon direct beginnen, er stond zelfs een wijntje koud in de frigo. Bij mooi weer is het heerlijk buiten zitten voor een BBQ met excellent vlees van 'boucherie Bertrand' uit Mettet en bij minder weer een prachtige, ruime plaats om binnen te eten. Mooie wandelingen, railbikes vanuit Falaen naar de abdij van Maredsous, de ruïnes van het kasteel van Montaigle. Wij hadden een leuk weekend en zouden zeker nog eens terugkomen. Super vriendelijke hosts. Vele groeten. Jürgen en Daisy"

"Beautiful property and well maintained. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. My only complaints are that the dining options were very slim in the area after like 7pm, and there was a list of requests posted in multiple areas of the room that "for the environment you should turn off the water when brushing your teeth and turn off the water while washing your body in the shower" which was peculiar. I am environmentally conscious and still found that unpleasant to be asked of from a place I paid to stay in. "
