Cabin Living and Ocean Fun in One
* Warning, long winded* We loved our stay. The cabin is cozy with plenty of comfortable sleeping space and temperature control. The host was easy to get ahold of when needed, responded quickly, was pleasant, and even let us know when we had animal visitors. Lots of deer in the area. The place was stocked with basically all the basics we needed. We fished a little. Right in front of the steps is a spot you need to watch your step, otherwise the way down to the river is good. The area on the bank is kind of narrow in my opinion. We didn't catch anything (except trees lol), but still had fun and saw a fish. We went to White Cap beach area and it was about an hour out from the cabin, so a longer drive than we were thinking, but it was fine. I wish we would've stayed longer to have plenty of time to experience the place more along with our beach time. The only things I would've liked different are not really things that are a big deal, not can they really change and are expected; such as only one bathroom, a washer and dryer, and the few bugs inside. All in all it was a great stay and would I recommend.

As Expected and Some
The entire stay was wonderful. From the clear and accurate communication, to the directions and scenery. We had a blast and would love the opportunity to stay there again and again!

Amazing River Property
Traveled to this area for baseball. Our son played in Corpus Christi, which wasn’t a bad drive at all from the property. Brennan was a great host with phenomenal communication. The home was beautiful, our boys enjoyed fishing and hanging outdoors around the fire pit at night. It was just right for our trip. The house stays cool and we probably got some of the best sleep we’ve had in a long time. So peaceful and beautiful out there. We will definitely be back for more fun. Great place to stay, highly recommended. Also, if you are a gym rat like me, I drove about 8 miles from the house to Mathis, TX to House of Gainz. They warmly welcomed me as a drop in. There is also a H‑E‑B about 8 miles from the house as well. Very convenient for us.

Not what we expected
The listing shows 4 bedroom 4 bathroom..it was 2 bedrooms with a loft and a "nook" area with another bed. Only, on the first night we were unaware of one of the bedrooms because it was screwed shut, so we just assumed that room was off limits, but the owner called the 2nd day and said we could push the door open, and use that room..luckily we had a drill. So that room, and the room with the two beds, have doors that go out to a balcony that probably isn't safe for children under 5.. it had a missing slat in the railing and a piece of board missing on the deck. One of the chairs out there had sharp metal sticking up where your leg is when you sit (needed cushions). The front balcony seemed to be in a little better shape, except the railing facing the river was pretty wobbly. Now for the bathroom, not 4, but 1 and it has a single person shower stall, no tub. We really needed more then 1 bathroom for 7 people..which is why i thought a 4 bd 4 bath was perfect.. anyway, plenty of toilet paper but no trash can in the bathroom to throw away feminine products or wipes, thank goodness for grocery bags. The beds were comfortable and seemed to have clean bedding, but the window seals were not cleaned and a lot of cob webs and dust everywhere. The kitchen functioned as a kitchen should, except the dishes that were already put away weren't very clean. We just washed things before we used them and after.. there were a few different food items left there maybe from other renters. But most of it was very old and expired we had our own food i just thought it was strange to leave expired food in the house... I guess if you're not too "high class" this place would work for you.. we just expected better for the price we paid.. i am not one to complain and that's not what i am trying to do here, just want to give my honest feed back on the place. also the tree branches that cross over the driveway are extremely low, if your poles are standing up or kayaks are on top be cautious. And the stairs down to the water have seen better days. Watch out for the hole to the right of the first step..we caught 0 fish, lots of turtles.
