"Despite the poor reviews about communication with managers, we actually got into our place right at 3:00. It might have been a challenge if we hadn’t been right there waiting. It was a quaint and comfortable place, that seemed to have an interesting history. Very close to main plaza. Kitchen had the basics. It would have been nice to have 5 gallons of filtered water available and at least one kitchen towel. Overall a comfortable stay."

"The location was great, being just a few minutes walk away from beautiful Centro! The apartment was spacious and clean with 2 rooms for myself and my brother. "Lovely property in gated community. Property had all the amenities you could ask for. Property managers were quick to respond, and reached out several times to check on us. Location is a bit far from the golden zone, but if you are looking for a relaxing holiday away from the hustle and bustle, then this is your place. Right near the beach, and a short walk to some nice restaurants. I will say this is a 4 bedroom. The double beds are in a hall and not a separate closed off bedroom. "

"A gorgeous property with a beautiful beach. The staff in the buffets and restaurants are excellent. Rooms are spacious. When we had a problem with a non working phone and coffee pot they addressed it. 4 stars for substandard service at the adults only swim up bars. I tipped and still stood there while others were served. Also they are supposed to restock room fridge with water and other drinks every 2 days. Turns out it’s not automatic. You must call to request it."

"Gaviana Resort is beautiful with a gorgeous ocean view and a great central location where shopping and attractions are at a breeze. Their staff was very welcoming and friendly. "Located directly on the beach, this boutique resort did not disappoint. The staff was friendly, helpful and genuine. While there was only one small intimate restaurant, the chef created delicious and plentiful options for his guests. The various entertain events proved very enjoyable. The best part was the expansive beach and its proximity to great restaurants and bars. If you are looking for a small, quiet, and peaceful resort, this is a great option. "

"Very clean place, very friendly staff and good value for the money. The only issue is that it is very noisy on the beach and with a bars in adjacent properties, but that is a problem in most of the Golden Zone of Mazatlan. Lots of Banga Bands on the beach pumping their music through speakers and open air bars playing music until 2 am. "

"The hotel staff was amazing! So attentive, friendly and always made sure we were taken care of. The room was ok… the hot water took forever to come out, there were lots of days we had to shower with lukewarm water… The towels felt like sand paper… the tub would clog up as well. As far as dining, the food was delicious, lots of options to choose from. Overall would rate the hotel a solid 8/10."

"My stay was great. Only one area that could be better was that when we were at the pool we had to go and find someone to order drinks and food. I know first world problems but we really just wanted to tip your waiters and talk to them. The rooms were spotless and the grounds were well kept. "

Dreams Estrella del Mar Mazatlan Golf & Spa Resort - All Inclusive

"Quiet relaxing resort off the beaten path close to airport. The staff goes out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. We did tip but we felt it was not like they expected it. Staff really appreciated the tips and one of our waiters was SO appreciative and made our night by saying ‘God bless you’. There are no bracelets. The beach is walkable for miles each way and quiet. We saw dolphins daily but you have to watch for them. There are no beach activities like parasailing or jet skis. All rooms are ocean view. We did preferred club which is ocean front. Preferred club has separate pool area & bar but is quiet -no music. There is also a preferred lounge. We also got 2 rounds of free golf with 4 nights preferred booking. The golf course is amazing! At least 6 holes right on the ocean and is in beautiful shape. The club house overlooks the ocean also. We paid $50 for new PXG clubs plus they gave us a free drink. They pick you up at the hotel with golf cart & take you there. We thought the food options were all good. Nice coffee shop. No reservations required at restaurants which was SO nice. Rooms are big and nicely decorated with many amenities. We really enjoyed our stay & would return. We didn’t go to Stone Island but it’s a $30 taxi there and heard it was fun and authentic Mexico experience. "
