Main Description
Welcome to Lavender Row Holiday Cottage in Stedham, near Midhurst. The cottage is situated within the South Downs National Park in West Sussex, offering self-catering accommodation for up to 5 guests. Stedham is a very picturesque country village, with a pub, village green and great walking from the door. Five minutes drive away is the charming town of Midhurst, which has a great selection of local shops. This cottage is close to several attractions including Goodwood, Petworth, Cowdray polo and golf course.
The cottage has a bright and spacious feel. Downstairs is the kitchen with an open-plan dining area, followed by a separate living room with a log fire.
Upstairs, the bedroom enjoys views of the National park. There is one single bedroom, a master bedroom with a king-sized bed, and a third bedroom with a double bed. The bathroom consists of a toilet, bath, and shower (over bath).
There is an enclosed private garden to the rear of the cottage and a parking space in front of the house.
The original part of the cottage was built in 1780 with a stone wall. Due to the modern central heading and double-glazed window, there can be evidence of damp where the hot air condenses on the walls. If any member of your party is sensitive to damp, it was advised not to book in this property.

The region
The village of Stedham has an old historic center, with a small village green with surrounding charming cottages. There is a beautiful large grassy space at the edge of the village and adjacent to the cottage. Once used as polo pitches, a footpath crosses this peaceful spot overlooking the South Downs. Stedham common has larger regions to roam over open heathland over the A272.
Five minutes drive away is Midhurst, an ancient Town with central portions of Tudor origin. The town has a number of cafes and small restaurants as well as a mini supermarket and garage, Cowdray park, castle ruins and golf course.
