Traditional Lakeland Hideaway Cottage for two, close to the Lakes and Dales

Pear Tree Barn is a wonderful example of a traditional detached property that has been cleverly transformed to create a cosy holiday retreat for two. It is a superb choice for couples looking for that romantic getaway and for spending precious time together in quality surroundings. The accommodation is small but perfectly formed with carefully chosen accessories to create a stylish, contemporary look.
Two minutes drive from Junction 36 of the M6, with easy access to the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. The local market town of Kendal and the popular village of Kirkby Lonsdale are only a short drive away. There is a village shop in the fuel station quarter of a mile away.
The property has its own parking space and patio with outdoor seating.
Across the lane is the popular Crooklands Hotel with a lovely restaurant or bar meals and local ales in the snug.

Excellent location
The property was perfect for two people exploring the local area. Crooklands hotel next door was great for easy food and a restful pub after a long walking day. But if you want dinner make sure you book. Couldn’t recommend the property more highly.

Annual Birthday Weekend in Our Special Place
Once again Emma provided us w8th all that we could have asked for, from booking out atay to communication throughout until we arrived. The accommodation is just ideal for what we wanted and remembered from last year. We can see she's been pottering about in the garden, the smells are amazing and add to the overall atmosphere of the property...until next year, thanks again Emma x

Quick Lake District visit
Quiet and cozy place a short drive from the Lake District and with easy access to the motorway. Skylight in the bedroom provides just enough light. Kitchenette is nicely outfitted. Nice resturaunt and bar across the lane.

what a lovely place! quiet with ample necessities walking distance from the pear barn. theres a bus that runs M-F into the bigger nearby towns or taxi service if you come without car (as i did). a car makes stuff way easier though. inside was super clean, quiet and had everything i could think to need. thank you so much for a fab stay!!

Beautiful little cottage
Very pretty, new and clean. But was no dryer for people's clothing! When traveling for a long time and it is cloudy/rainy it is an issue. Owner was helpful.

Quaint little hideaway.
Lovely little hideaway for visiting the Lake District. The cottage is an ideal size for a couple to relax, unwind and enjoy the area. Really good access from the nearby motorway and in turn, a brilliant location to explore the rest of the national park. I booked this quaint little cottage for my mum as we have a place nearby so we could visit her whilst on her stay. The place is spotless and has everything you might need for a comfortable break away from the rat race. Would definitely use again and highly recommend. Thanks :-)

Pleasant little cottage
This is a small but functional little cottage. The parking is a little tight, there was a car parked opposite the drive most of the time we were there which didn't help. Watch out for the heater in the bedroom there's not much of a gap between the bed and it and can lead to a bit of a surprise! There is a pub a couple of doors away and it's certainly worth a visit.

Well-equiped small cottage.
My wife and I had a lovely stay in Crooksland, despite the weather. There were ample opportunities for walks in the Lake district and we also loved visiting Blackpool on a sunny day. The only things we had not really expected were that the cottage is really small and does not have a nice view. You only see the table and chairs in the garden and your car.

Excellent little bolthole
This was such a great find, a real gem of a little place only 25 mins drive from Windermere & Arnside. Pear Tree Barn is like a little Tardis (for those who have seen Dr Who!). It’s really well appointed & cleverly thought out making use of the small footprint of the place. There’s everything you need and is so clean & tidy, it’s a credit to the owners, so thank you Emma for letting us stay there. I can highly recommend this place for a romantic couples retreat, we had a wonderful 3 nights sleep there too. We will definitely return here in the near future. X
