"D Canal was the highlight of our hotel stays in Sri Lanka. The decoration at the hotel was beautiful and unique. The chef made his own Mango, papaya and lime jam which was to die for. It was definitely the tastiest breakfast we had during our trip. The pool was very relaxing and the staff couldn’t do enough to make your stay enjoyable. There is a free tuk, tuk to and from the property from 10am to 7pm which was very generous. I wish we had stayed longer and will definitely be returning. "

"Didn't know what to expect when we booked way back 6 or 7mths ago. It's a shame we only had 2 nights... could easily spend longer. Hotel, is clean and spacious with staff very friendly with nothing being too much trouble. Our room is great, plenty of space, with views from the balcony over the harbour or the small hill to the nearby secret beach. Ideally located for Marissa beach or the whale watching kick of point... both in very easy walking distance. Plenty of restaurants and bars nearby, if fancy a change but food available here. The pool is a great addition and we certainly made use of that, with views over the harbour. Would recommend without a second thought. The small staff team are fantastic. "

"Warm welcome and helpful staff. Room was spacious and comfortable. Only stayed one night due to our itinerary but would happily have stayed on. Didn’t eat breakfast in the property as we had an early start whale watching but they provided a small takeaway breakfast and water which was a nice touch. They also moved our packed luggage out of our room while we were out so we didn’t need to worry about managing this early in the am. Close to the beach and in a quiet location off the main, busy road. "
