"If you plan to visit northern Vermont, I would highly recommend staying at the Muddy Mouse. I actually cant think of anything negative to say about it. It's truly a diamond in the rough. The property sits on a mountain top and is surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen. "As two women staying here by ourselves, this place made us uncomfortable. Wires were cut leading up to the hut (they said it’s been like that for 6 years but how would we know that?) and the lock was broken/tampered with so that it wouldn’t lock at all. Didn’t feel as it was worth it to call someone out as we were in the middle of nowhere and still felt unsafe on the property so we left to find a hotel."

We were located just a few minutes away from Crystal Lake State Park, Lake Willoughby, and wonderful local restaurants like Roberto's Pizza and Barton Baking. "My wife and I enjoyed seven nights at this property. We used it as a 'hub' to 'spoke' out to Lake Willoughby, Jay Peak, Burlington, Stowe, and Waterbury. Pre-arrival coordination was excellent. The property is true to photos and description - a one-bedroom apartment above a garage. We used the hot tub twice. We didn't use the gas grill located adjacent to the hot tub. Roku TV was more than adequate for the small amount of time spent at the property. The kitchen had ample dishes/pans/etc...

"The property is as listed. It's new so is very clean and has pretty much all the basics you need. It is remote, almost 3 miles of dirt road, no internet though does have WIFI. There are restaurants 9 miles away in Morrisville with surprisingly good food, ( the duck at Siam Valley Thai was exceptional), as well as groceries, hardware, etc. A good place to escape from our daily craziness."
