"We love Taupo and Manuel's and have stayed a great many times over the years. Unfortunately the rooms are a little tired and could do with a wee revamp. The sofa in our room was awful. However - it won't stop us from returning as the location on the lake is perfect. "

"The River Lodge is a beautiful property set in lovely grounds. We had a large beautiful room, very comfortable bed, lovely bathroom and a balcony with a wonderful view of the mountain. We had fabulous breakfasts and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only downside is that it is quite remote - about a 10 minute drive into Ohakune."
