"A beautiful heritage estate of large proportions and character. The history was fascinating. Staff were friendly and helpful. Facilities were superb. A beautiful country setting with beautiful views of the river and farmland. Well equipped rooms, with all appliances you could ever need. Rooms were cosy and warm. We loved using the pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Highly recommend and I would love to stay here again, given the opportunity."

"The apartment was clean and tidy, though was freezing cold as the heating was off..the electric heaters did turn on quickly but was virtually all or nothing. The ensuite show lurched from boiling to ice cold without moving the controls...weirdly no hand towels or a tea towel in the kitchen and only a couple items of cutlery. However the bed was comfy"

We were very pleased with the little extras that the owners have available like tea & coffee. 40 mins from Alton Towers was very handy with a Tesco enroute so we could get any bits we needed. "This is truly in different league to other hotels, loved it. Whilst the food in the restaurant is amazing, the only criticism I have, is there needs to be more obvious options for families, 3 main course and drinks for over £100 pound for adults is fine for the quality of the food, but way to expensive for a family. Still for a romantic getaway its truly amazing., and I would definitely go back. St"

"Although a 3* Hotel, the service we received was more in keeping with a 5*. Our room was clean, free of dust and mould, loved the decor. The swimming pool was a huge attraction for my grandchildren and we were able to continue using the facilities after we had officially checked out. Food was well presented and good sized portion. "

"We stayed on the ground floor room 016 and loved the cleanliness & child friendly & easily accessible areas like restaurant, playground, mini golf, kids disco. The dinner and breakfast were tasty and the staff friendly and helpful, mostly run by very young and polite people who would immediately check with manager if any problems or help needed.
