The Moon - Quonset Hut Vacation Rental Heated Pool

City of New Orleans Licensed Bed and Breakfast with a Pool. Welcome to the Moon. It's a newly renovated Quonset Hut. Award winning architecture and contemporary living in a historic neighborhood. This mid-century modern building hosts you and up to 12 of your friends in 6 private rooms. Each room has and en suite bathroom. The rooms have a common courtyard and common kitchen up front. Walking distance to Crescent Park at Piety St., Pizza Delicious, Oxalis, The Country Club, Satsuma, Red's Chinese and more. Street Parking.

The Space:
Six bedrooms opening to a common courtyard. Each room has it's own bathroom and a/c unit. No walk throughs here. Tons of privacy! All beds are queens size beds.

Guest Access:
Access to six bedrooms that open to onto a courtyard. Each room has it’s own restroom. Kitchen and living room upstairs.

Other Things to Note:
There is street parking available. I ask that you park across the street or around the corner on Royal so that my neighbors can park in front of their houses.

We are 25-30 minutes from the airport and a 3 minute Uber or Lyft to the quarter. You can also walk to the quarter through Crescent Park along the river in 15-20 minutes.


A Quonset hut /ˈkwɒnsᵻt/ is a lightweight prefabricated structure of corrugated galvanized steel having a semicircular cross-section. Developed in the United States, the design was based on the Nissen hut introduced by the British during World War I. Hundreds of thousands were produced during World War II and military surplus was sold to the public. The name comes from their site of first manufacture, Quonset Point, at the Davisville Naval Construction Battalion Center in Davisville (a village located within the town of North Kingstown, Rhode Island, U.S.).

Interaction with Guests:
As the host, I won’t always greet you as you arrive because we have codes for entry. I do, however, live in the rear of the space in separate quarters. I will occasionally pass by the courtyard to my space in the rear. I’m always happy to give recommendations and chat a bit if guests would like to. Please let all of your guests know that I do live on the property so I don’t surprise them. =]
