There was evidence of smoking - cigarette ends on the flat roof outside the only functioning window. The chair was broken. The continental breakfast was not served on time and was meagre and very poor. The staff were friendly however and with a bit of thought and better planning it could easily improve.
Clean and friendly staff that's all I need. Great for a stopover for a day or two. I we s travelling through the night and the hotel staff made it possible to check in early so I could get forty winks

The hotel does not offer any food. The shower was impossible to regulate. However it was warm friendly and clean.
Very run down beds ripped and held up with tape. Bedroom window broke patched up with tape, unpleasent odour in room would never return to hotel. Complaint being sent to expedia.
this is a budget priced hotel , clean bed and bathroom etc, bar area is as the hotel , bit tired but as said budget and i was happy with my purchase , all staff were very kind and polite.. this hotel is not luxury but fitted my needs well.. only one criticism breakfast time finishes at 09.00 on a sunday !

Not good
The bed was very old and dipped in the middle. There was NO wifi and it was advertised as having wifi. The TV had very poor reception on most channels and couldn't be watched.
If you are staying on Friday or Saturday night forget about sleeping!! SOOOOO noisy from 3am onwards with nobody trying to keep the noise down and that includes the night porter!! No tea or coffee in rooms, only 1 plug socket for tv which was probably 20 years old and everything else so out-dated !! It was reasonably clean though and that is the only reason I actually stayed! cheap but not cheerful and I won't be staying here again.
We stayed here on Friday night after the wrestling in Newcastle, there was just the two of us and for what we needed it was perfect. The beds were super comfy and the room was very clean the only minor problem we had was that we turned the radiator right down as it was extremely hot in the room but this didn't work. Other than that it was perfect. The radiator issue was only very minor and I wouldn't even say it was a complaint as we just opened the windows
Looks nothing like pictures advertised, I know it was cheap but carpets weren't hoovered, smelled like someone had just used the loo in my room before id arrived, on last night got absolutely no sleep with next door running about slamming doors through the night and physically fighting in hallway, definitely never be back..
I booked one night after a function just across the road. The welcome (from Gina) could not have been better. The room was amazing with a four poster bed, en suite bathroom, quiet with a view over countryside. Chef & bar staff very friendly and ready to be flexible on timing. Food & drink very reasonably priced. Could not understand why this is only a two start hotel. Thoroughly recommended.
