"For our 25th anniversary we chose Newport, RI for a getaway. As first time visitors, we researched options and chose the Vanderbilt because it seemed central in location and the fact there were onsite spa services and good bar. This first choice was fortunate because we then met Morgan, the lead concierge. I booked the hotel and then immediately emailed re:spa services. Morgan called within 5 minutes of my email to book our appts and then proactively offered other services, ideas, and resources....

"From the moment we pulled up to the hotel the staff was warm and welcoming. The accommodations are high end with spotless well equipped rooms, a fireplace and water view. John the valet was very accommodating and always on time. We had brunch in the beautiful restaurant with the best waiter. He took care of all ten of us, and was attentive and pleasant at all times. We had the best time and would recommend Forty One North to anyone visiting Newport. "

"Very disappointed, told manager he should be ashamed of putting anyone in that room…Room L.!!! Upon entering our room, we were overcome with a super strong unpleasant urine odor. The entire room was a disaster, a huge hole in the ceiling covered with some plexi boards and nails, and the carpet was rippled in several places, from where it had been wet. By far, the bathroom floor urine oder was the worst!! I called the Wynstones manager and he totally played dumb. Acted like it was impossible...

"The well-kept 2 bedrooms (only these rooms have window air conditioners), living room and kitchen/dining area offered ample space for our family, with a pleasant yard and easy off-street parking. The Bellevue Ave. historic district and Cliff Walk are within easy walking distance. Steve, the owner, stopped by to welcome us and share information on area beaches."
