"This was a great little place right on the water of the bay. At low tide we had a private tiny beach. It was in a great location and although it was in a very bisy area, it felt secluded. "I wasn’t happy that there wasn’t too much leniency on early or late check ins or check outs. Most other hotels I have used in the past have allowed checkins as early as 2am day of as well as 2pm for check outs. This includes Hilton, Marriott and best western. The diamond resort was just purchased by Hilton so hopefully in the future they will be lenient for request from guest. "First time at Virginia Beach. Probably won’t stay at Turtle Cay resort again. The card reader to enter premise was not operable for almost two days meaning anyone could enter the facility. We called for washcloths three times and had to go buy our own because laundry wasn’t available. Dirthy dishes were left in the dishwasher when we arrived to our room. We also had to call for all new bedding also do to cleanliness."

"Ocean Sands is very good. We have stayed here several times. We got a room on first floor which is more spacious and provides walk out to ocean. Unfortunately, a bunch of kids were partying in an adjacent parking lot until police broke them up at 2:00 pm. We will be back to Ocean Sands but maybe not first floor. "
