"I would have given this property 5 stars except for the sketchy kitchen equipment. When traveling with pets it is often difficult to go out to eat. Therefore we made three meals a day and wished for 1)a toaster oven 2)electric kettle and 3) more hot pads, kitchen towels, and spatulas"

"When we arrived at the property, it was exactly as described in the listing and even a little larger than we expected. The setting was beautiful and so peaceful! I loved watching the water from my seat around the fire and listening to all of the woodland creatures going about their day. My son also loved that it was a "classic" Maine Camp.... it was just like one would imagine. We would definitely recommend and stay here again."

We were able to feel right at home and used the kitchen every day, the dining room had space for all of us which made for some great holiday meals together. "We had a lovely stay in this historic home. The decor is charming and original, beds are comfy and everything is clean. The neighborhood is attractive and quiet. The information from the host was helpful. It was great to have a dedicated parking space. "This is a quiet and well kept property. Plenty of room to find a quiet space to relax by the river. A private dock to launch a kayak, swim or tube. The view was great . All amenities for outdoor activities were setup like Volleyball and badminton. Also a nice fire pit with plenty of outdoor seating. Get your own wood . Tiki torches were set up but you have to bring your own fuel also. We brought our own kayak. The kitchen was equipped with all pans and utensils to cook and a great big grill...

"It was good, loved the hot tub availability. Would be nice if it was open later than 1000. Room was comfortable and clean. The hot water availability is not so great, At the end of my shower, the water was no longer hot. I do not take a long shower-5 min max, there was no hot water when my husband showered. This was at 830 in the am. Toilet also had trouble flushing toilet paper-5 flushes to get it to go down. Rm 221"

"We had a wonderful stay here over Valentine’s Day weekend. Our only wish is that the hot tub portion of the spa was open later than 6pm, especially in the colder months with extreme weather like we had on Sunday. Staff was great and we would definitely stay again. "

10/10 wouldn’t stay anywhere else in portland

"I can’t say enough good about the staff or the property. The valet crew was top notch and friendly, offering tips, directions and even shuttle rides across town as the weather was poor and since they had time they said they didn’t see a need for me to take a lyft. The front desk hooked us up with an early check in and late check out and the hotel bar / breakfast restaurant was great as well. Per the room, it was spacious, views were great, bed comfy, couch comfy and the shower was also large and modern. Wouldn’t even bother trying another property in town after staying here. Steps to the State Theatre and lots of great restaurants and shops and just a short walk to old port and the boardwalk."

"Perfect for our needs for our vacation. Very close to old town and plenty of restaurants. Some restaurants walkable--weather dependent. Our bartender Chris was a gem and provided his own curated list of places to see, where to eat, and breweires. It was an invaluable resource! Food for purchase options were convenient for breakfast.
