"The whole property is what I called "Olde English" themed. Each room is named after an English poet or author. I loved the 1st floor lobby. There was a wood-burning fireplace, games, puzzles and lots of room to congregate. The complementary breakfast was very nice. I don't know where the pastries came from, but they were awesome. "I had a very pleasant stay at the Seven Gables Inn. The room was big (213) and clean. Huge marble bath and heated toilet. Some of the hotel needs a paint job or renovation but the room was great. People friendly and made an extra effort. My colleague stayed in a different room half the size and was not happy so now I understand the mixed reviews on the site. Ask for room 213 or equivalent. "

"Unfortunately the pipes froze and broke right before we arrived at the hotel but the staff was amazing and relocated us and provided transportation to our new hotel. They went above and beyond and couldn’t have been nicer in spite of the challenging conditions that they were facing. We were sorry not to stay there but will try again next time we’re in town."
