The view from the rooms, kitchen and bathroom was not spectacular, but the apartment itself was well equipped, huge flat TV, Modem instead of Wi-Fi, big bathroom, more water shower, nice bed and a quite strong portable fan for days, when it warms up, though usually the temperature is very moderate. "We stayed there more than 2 weeks amd loved it so much. The place is so quiet and relaxing and perfect for family with kids. The whole vibes of the villa is very balinese. The staff are kind and responding quickly to our needs. The room is very spacious and we love it has big wardrobe which is good for long stay guests. Also their kitchen is fully equipped with kitchen utensils, and when you need something else, the staff provided it so fast.

"Stay was during May-25 at the Akohara retreat in Ubud. On arrival greeted by staff with flower garland, drinks and local traditional dance. This is definitely a couples retreat. Our room was six levels down a mountain, some 405 steps down. We used the inclinator elevator to travel between our room and main pool and restaurant. We stayed in the Pertiwi One Bedroom Pool Villa, wow. Room is well decorated and of a very good standard. Out door gazebo area and sun deck with mini bar. Room has a four poster bed and seated area. Outdoor private shower, wash room all hidden away and contained within the villa no prying eyes. Pool is awesome with a built in bathroom on the side. Food is all table service and the quality of the food is excellent standard. The main pool by the restaurant is heated with multiple levels for some breath taking views of the tropical jungle. Went for a 3 hour couples spa treatment which included a massage, body scrub, body mask and flower bath and were given a choice of which oils we wanted to use for massage. By far the best spa experience ever. If our stay was longer would have definitely booked it again. Staff are amazing and can’t do enough for you and happy to assist and advise. All in all an exceptional retreat and one I would definitely recommend and return without a doubt. 10 out 10.

"My Canadian family visited two areas in Bali. Canggu and Ubud. Our stay at Hillside Eden was absolutely memorable for my family's first visit to Bali (Asia even). There were 13 of us and the villa accommodated us perfectly. The villa may arguably be a bit dated compared to a few that I have visited before, but the setting was just absolutely magical. Most importantly the staff were amazing. I kept in contact with Andrew months before the trip, and he patiently dealt with my requests for day trips and NYE dinner. He arranged for us to have dinners in nearby resorts, and he even had staff help us pack up at 2am for our departure. This villa is quintessential Balinese hospitality. "
