This beautiful holiday home is located just a couple of minutes’ walk away from Preston Sands beach making this the ideal base for your seaside holiday. Take a stroll along the coastal footpath in one direction to Goodrington and Brixham and then Torquay to the other. Paignton has it all with a pier, shops, cinema, pubs, theatre and restaurants and its location in the Torbay area gives you endless options for days out in this sunny corner of Devon.
The local towns of Torquay, with its marina, and the famous fishing town of Brixham, which make up the beautiful English Riviera, are also a short drive away. There are many tourist attractions in the vicinity including Agatha Christie’s summer home, Babbacombe Model Village and the award-winning Paignton Zoo. The Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway runs along the coast to Kingswear, opposite Dartmouth. Take a ferry across to visit Dartmouth with its array of shops and restaurants, take a walk around the castle and enjoy one of the tea shops for a Devon cream tea.
Away from the coast there are plenty of places to visit, including the picturesque town of Totnes with some fine 16th-century buildings, and once a week there is a popular market. No trip would be complete without a visit to Dartmoor to climb one of the tors or just take in the beauty and travel across the moor to Tavistock, where you can enjoy some dramatic scenery. There are many National Trust properties and plenty of swimming, sailing and angling.
