This midpoint between New York City and the Delaware Water Gap combines scenic beauty with a charming town center and a famed history in furniture making.

Parsippany is a small town in the heart of northern New Jersey. Enjoy the relaxed pace of this quiet spot and explore its historic farm, parks and shops. The town was originally settled by the Lenape Native American tribe. The name Parsippany derives from their word parsipanong, meaning “the place where the river winds through the valley.” Visit one of the town’s 31 parks, such as Cameron Tract or Knoll Park. Take the family to Druid Hill and enjoy the sports fields and playgrounds.

One of Parsippany’s main attractions is Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms. This is the former country estate of Gustav Stickley, a major figure in the Arts and Crafts movement in the late 1890s. His furniture remains highly collectible today. His estate has been designated a National Historic Landmark and is open to the public. Take a guided tour through Log Home, the estate’s primary residence, to see some of Stickley’s original pieces.

Parsippany has a variety of stores and restaurants, ranging from well-known chains to quaint local establishments. For a larger shopping experience, several malls are within a 15-minute driving radius.

New York City is just 35 miles (56.3 kilometers) from Parsippany and is easily accessible via car or public transport Whether you want to see a Broadway show, watch a sporting match or visit a world-renowned museum. New York City has dozens of attractions to suit any visitor.

Almost the same distance in the opposite direction is the Delaware Water Gap, where the Delaware River slices through the Appalachian Mountains. Go canoeing on the river, try your luck at fishing or take a dip in the cool water. There are many trails for hiking and rock climbing in varying levels of difficulty.

Fly into Newark International Airport, which is a 30-minute drive from Parsippany. Parsippany is the perfect destination for a relaxing day in a charming town. If you’re looking for more adventure, there are several natural and metropolitan attractions nearby.

"You can not beat the location. Check in and check out was painless and easy and efficient. Only 3 of the 5 elevators were working. The key card would often not work in the elevator. The card reading system needs to be updated. You have to hold the door open until the elevator recognizes your card. ..."

"There was enough space for all five of us to sleep but it was very cold with the window just being cardboarded closed.
