"Lovely place, very central. Adapted room, very hot. Also, smelt of stale urine, although the room was very clean. Parked in 1 of only 2 disabled bays and in the morning had to ask reception to get a car moved (not disabled) from the bay next to ours as we couldn't get into our car. Bit disappointing. "

"The hotel is in need of refurbishment to say the least the bar area was disgusting seats broken only bottles as pumps not working and dirty glasses infact the hotel should be condemned. The only saving grace was the staff and the breakfast the staff were polite,friendly and helpful especially Annie who made breakfast service a pleasure. Disappointing that hotels.com have this on there web site as im sure if they sent an inspector they would not recommend this hotel I for one will not be...

"I stayed here one night and it was perfectly nice, a bit of a maze and a small bathroom, but that's pretty standard for old buildings. The room was comfy and the location was convenient, and it was a very good price (especially in the off season). It's got some quirks, though. Like I said, it had a small bathroom and shower with nowhere to put your toiletries in the shower, so I had to put them on the ground, which was a bit tricky in the narrow stall. "Unfortunately our first room we couldn’t open the door so we were moved to another, the 2nd room the shower did not work we were moved again to the best room in the house..the toilet cistern didn’t work. On the first 2 occcasions the staff were aware of the issues. We had breakfast and salt and pepper shakers were empty, we knew the place was old and weren’t expecting a 5 star hotel however the basics are not negotiable. All the staff were lovely and took care of these items quickly."
