"Excellent place to stay, was convenient for a Saturday night out with a friend close to Carlisle town centre, the beds was comfy clean & nice bathroom i was pleased it had a bath as i only have a shower room at home it was lovely & relaxing, Slept very well, i forgot to put the do not disturb sign on the door so i got a knock on at 9am from house keeping which i didn't like. The breakfast was amazing fresh Cumbria products jams butters etc, the fried eggs was so tasty & fresh the sausages was brilliant & was free. Overall 10/10 glad we choose to stay hete definitely would stay again it was safe & was pleased to see it was a genuine hotel not housing unruly impostors."

"This is my 4th visit to this excellent hotel, always on a one night stay as I am taking the Carlisle to Settle train the next day (must see!). This hotel is a great place to stay, the staff are warm and welcoming, the rooms are spacious and comfortable and I always get a great nights sleep here. Only a 5-10 minute walk from the station, the building is quite old and has a lot of character. Incredible value for money and well located I never consider staying anywhere else if I am staying in Carlisle. The breakfast at 10.50 pounds is well worth the money. "

"Lovely stay celebrating my partners birthday, The place and grounds are stunning, We arrived and had a complementary room upgrade which was very appreciated room was gorgeous! We headed to the spa which had plenty of options there in, we enjoyed a drift away massage which was lovely, we ate in both the grill and the lakeview restaurant both were superb, breakfast was also plenty of options and delicious, Liam who served us was brilliant at his job, Akils cocktails are superb! They brought out a cake and sang to my partner which was a nice touch what we didnt expect,We also did archery with Kevin who was fantastic and good company, we were also given free passes to the wildlife park just a stonesthrow from the property which was amazing, the staff rrally do go above and beyond to make your stay perfect we cant wait to go back again "

"I can't speak too highly of this hotel. The staff couldn't do too much for us, they were courteous and polite at all times. The quality and choice of food was second to none, for the lake District, it was extremely competitively priced....we will be back, soon, for another break. "
